Leander ISD went 5 for 6. Vista Ridge and Vandegrift in 6A Rouse, Cedar Park and Leander in 5A. Glenn was one spot away in Area Finals from making it 6 for 6 for the district. Can any district beat five total bands?

This, 100%. If you're going to have a rule, you enforce it. Otherwise, it isn't a rule. If there was some logistical interference that delayed their start, something related to the facility itself or restricting the band from starting their setup (which is all under UIL control) I see that as a basis for appeal. Short of that, I got nothing.

For Prelims, yes. For Finals - No clock.

There are so many great marching bands in Texas. By the end of Prelims we will have 23 sure-fire Finalists. 🤣

Finals draw is posted. Of the likely Finalists, Vandy is 1st. The Woodlands also early. Ronald Reagan, Vista Ridge and Pearland at the other end.

Brandeis' show was excellent. I really wish there was a 5th slot, because that show is definitely State-worthy. I'm not shocked they didn't do better in earlier competitions. It has been a late-bloomer. I saw it two weeks ago at the Vista Ridge Marching Festival and it has come a really long way in those two weeks. Massive improvement!

Much more than Area D would be with Region 32 included. That would be a hideous bloodbath.

To try to balance things competitively.

@Tubalord11 & @MikeKyu they will have concessions for Area. Parking at Gupton is easy. Enter the parking lot off of either Park (north side of stadium) or Gupton Way (west side). The east entrance off of Vista Ridge Blvd is used for trucks and busses. If the Gupton lots end up being full, they will direct people over to the Vista Ridge HS lots to the east of the stadium. If you want to go grab a real meal between Prelims and Finals, go north from the stadium on Vista Ridge Blvd. to 1431/Whitestone Blvd. Turn right (east) and you will see Whataburger, McDonald's, Panda Express all before you get to Parmer. There is a Schlotzsky's @ Parmer (NE corner). Go left (west) instead on 1431 and go about a mile or so and you will hit a major retail area with many food options.

I believe the last cycle they announced the class cutoffs in November, so we should know who is moving up/down next month. And then the alignments for athletics districts should be announced in the Spring.
