  2. I'm on my way back to San Antonio right now.
  3. He is a fantastic teacher and the kids respond really well to him. He has a bright future ahead of him.
  4. Vista had to hire two new directors this year to replace departures and both hires were fantastic. One in particular- they went out of state to hire the head director from Grain Valley, MO and put him in charge of the marching program. The dude has been killing it and the kids love him.
  5. CTJ presents America: Under the Sea? They are an acquired taste and I have realized I will not ever acquire it. Taking nothing from their skill. They are amazing. I just do not care for their style. At all.
  6. My prediction is that this panel set up will not be in place next year. It will get a lot of criticism and deservedly so.
  7. Yes on the dome reentry, no on parking.
  8. Will be there for Finals tomorrow.
  9. *SIGH* Total lack of customer service focus.

  14. Area B: The Area thread that won't die...
  15. The Brandeis folks have also been wonderful with Vista. We love their enthusiasm.
  16. No noisemakers. And I'm pretty sure the Alamodome will not permit any sticks or poles (like for flags) of any kind.
  17. It kinda feels like it was done intentionally to get a 4th band to State. Since Leander benefitted, I'm cool with that.
  18. I know another band that might have a say in that.
  19. It only feels that way at times
  20. It will be telling how Weiss does in St.Louis.
  21. There are 5 judges, 3 for music and 2 for marching. Each scores up to 200 points. Each judges' score for all bands is ranked from 1 (highest) to X (lowest) where X is the number of bands in the competition. That rank is called an ordinal. All ordianals for a give band are summed. Lowest sum wins. Next lowest sum is 2nd, etc. If two bands have the same sum, the band preferred by more judges (by ordinals) places above the other.
  22. It involves multiple judges and dartboards... Kidding.
  23. Texas A&M Commerce used to be East Texas State University
