Here’s some groups I could find going per their calendar:

Azle HS

Keller Central HS

Wakeland HS

Forney HS

Timber Creek HS

LD Bell HS-exhibition 

Trinity HS- exhibition 

im guessing Marcus will be here. Aledo as well. Haltom also might be, they have local contest on their calendar for this day. Unfortunately looks like Melissa is taking away a good amount this year

Can’t really blame a lot of bands for going to other contests where they have a better chance at finals considering the high level of bands here.

I’m assuming it’ll be all bands in finals which is good for everyone. The shorter days are better for me and my aging bones as well 😆, but probably not as good of a thing for the host schools and what this competition does for them.

Heres my initial predictions for this contest:

place 1: Marcus HS

place 2: Wakeland HS

place 3: Aledo HS

place 4: Keller HS

place 5: Timber Creek HS

place 6: Forney HS

place 7: Southlake Carroll HS

place 8: Keller Central HS

place 9: Azle HS

place 10: Haltom HS

place 11: Paschal HS

place 12: Gainsville HS

 

I see Marcus winning all captions, but arguement could be made for Wakeland in visual. Aledo might be too high on my list, could see them 3-5.

Also, love the early season competitions that all bands make finals. Getting reps in will be super important, since most of these bands are typical state qualifiers.

The gap between Wakeland and Marcus has closed drastically these past couple of years, if we go look at 2022 prelims Wakeland actually got first, and last year at BOA North Texas Marcus only beat Wakeland by .05. These Wakeland kids definitely want that top spot but they're going to be fighting an uphill battle to get there.
