I'm happy that they are starting to do this, makes it easier for people who can't/don't want to drive far. I'm guessing they might eventually start doing all or all the "bigger ones"

Would be awesome for family that can’t come for various reasons.

Not sure about the size of the other areas, but Area H stretches down to the border and Cedar Park is a 4-5 hour drive. This makes watching your kid much more possible if you can't make that drive.

So, I am a bit lost, Who do I put for predictions? I saw something about vandy and vista going straight to state.

Here's who I put for my finals predictions (granted, I have not seen any of the Region 11 or Region 29 bands this year, so I more or less guessed for most of them):


I will say that I'm not certain that Lake Travis will be able to hold onto that fourth place spot (hence my 5th place my prediction for them), but I could be wrong!

Weather for this contest is looking awfully dicey. I hope they can get a contest without resorting to the backup day.

Last year it rained hard during prelims and they just kept going. They had to delay it a bit due to some lightning, but the competition didn’t have to move dates.

Weather looking questionable depending on where you look. Local stations predict most to clear by early AM and then scattered through the day. Fingers crossed they can get the whole competition in Saturday

8. Sandra Day O’Connor

9. Sonia Sotomayor

Honestly, don't see many surprises here as of now, but I could definitely eat those words. Don't think Brandeis can overtake Lake Travis for a state spot this year, so kind of a boring prediction, but excited to see this shake out.

There is a YouTube recording of the LT Dripping Springs game, and it shows the band performing.  I believe it’s the entire show.

In early season comps, Taft has been ahead of the other NISD schools. Lake Travis and Brandeis have both been unable to beat bands that Taft has beaten.

Idk, hate to be a homer, and honestly I still think this one is LT's for the taking, but this might be Taft's year.
