Yeah, if anything’s gonna draw from here it’ll be region, but other then BOA Waco this will definitely be one of the more stacked contest this weekend ( I hope).hoping to see Hebron and Marcus here!

Keller Central will be interesting to watch this season.  They have a new director this year and are already starting to work on their show music.

I don’t think this will have any effect on the contest itself. It may just be less organized.

The wind is that the band is transitioning to being a show band. That won’t affect it?

It’s still too early to know what’s going happen. All we can do it hope for the best and support the program, students, and staff as they go through this challenging period.

I agree but the earlier claim that the contest probably won’t be affected was silly. Obviously something is going to happen.

Ehhh this is just speculation on my part but DMI is one of the program’s biggest fundraising generators so I’d be surprised if admin chooses to ax it. This is just such a sad case, I just cannot possibly see how any of this benefits the kids in any way shape or form. It’s not like the kids were pushing for this, considering they advanced to state this year, had 7 all staters, and were at Music For All’s national convention. If that’s not a good year I don’t know what is. I’m still holding onto hope for a positive outcome but this has really been bumming me out…

Celina has listed a possible marching contest for this date. We have seen 4As attend this contest before (Canyon HS last year), but maybe this is wishful thinking lol

UPDATE: it was indeed wishful thinking, they no longer have anything scheduled for the 18th

The contest is still being held, but as far as I know, the contest has not filled up. A lot of bands in the area either have region or are at BOA Waco.

The lineup should be up any day now (last year, it was up 10 days out). The bands I have listed are all still going.

I wonder if DMI could become a contest similar to BOA Waco simply by scheduling on an area contest day. One year would be 6A dominated, and the other 5A dominated. It puzzles me why they decided to schedule it on a pretty universal region day.

Last year's lineup was stacked simply because it was scheduled on an area day where all the 6A bands were free.

This comp was stacked last year. I suspect Waxahachie should take this rather handedly. Wish there was more Area C schools here to give a better comparison

Meridian might be tiny but I could see them in 9th over SGP from what I remember at Waco last year they’re pretty strong for a small band
