Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Melissa-growing forward: great showing from Melissa! It is a little more of a basic show, but they do seem to be a younger group and are executing it fairly well. Visually a couple spacing and alignment issues, but some really cool visuals and drill. Musically pretty strong but again it’s nothing crazy. Should do well tonight at Celina though, great job Melissa WanderingTraveler and OGFISD99 2 Quote
WanderingTraveler Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Really liking how BC sounds with this Shatacovitch! PercDad4Life 1 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Burleson Centennial-the golden touch: just such a magical show!! Brass opener was played and handled so well, very minimal intonation issues. Loved their version of Sym 10. Drumline was ofc killer and the golden hour closer was so heart touching. If they don’t make it they should be on the edge but I’ve got them all in, amazing job BC!! OGFISD99 and PercDad4Life 2 Quote
Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Coppell: Hmmmm, I have mixed feelings about this one. They sound and look as fantastic ever, but I’m left wanting more in terms of the design. There’s no color, I don’t really follow the story, but maybe that’s just me. I think they will still have a very successful season, but I’m not a huge fan tbh, either way amazing job Coppell OGFISD99 1 Quote

WanderingTraveler Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Forney sounds like they have a pretty difficult book this year. This might be my favorite show design wise of the day. Also HOLY MELLO LINE. Dave609 1 Quote

Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Forney-the unforgiven: Wow wow wow!! I had seen their showing at HEB before today but that was insane!! Those t-bone glisses into the opening hit were fantastic and then it’s just a wall of sound. Visually tons of GE, soloists were phenomenal and that perc is def one of the stronger ones today. They really dive into their characters, just such a well designed show, see you tonight Forney!! MarchingMafia 1 Quote

Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Time for the final band of prelims! Saw Marcus on the HEB Livestream, and it was really good! Can't wait to see the show again!! Quote
LostChoirGuy Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 I didn't see Coppell today, but I had similar thoughts last week about their show design. They are still performing very well, but we're pretty close to being in the bottom half after finals last week and I actually thought Prosper and Wakeland were better in finals. At this point, I would still expect them to medal here and also make finals at state and BOA SA, but I think they will be closer to the bubble groups than those I'd consider locks. Quote
Dave609 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 My personal rankings of all the bands today- Marcus HS Wakeland Coppell HS Lone Star HS Prosper HS Lebanon Trail HS Braswell HS (could switch with McKinney) Forney HS McKinney HS (could switch with Braswell) Burleson Centennial HS Wylie HS McKinney North HS Rockwall HS (could see making finals) Southlake Carroll HS (could see making finals) Reedy HS (could see making finals) Walnut Grove HS Rock Hill HS Little Elm HS Melissa HS (could see being lower) Liberty HS (could see being higher) Rockwall-Heath HS (could see being higher) Whitesboro HS Commerce HS Overall, I really enjoyed every show today and it was not easy ranking these bands. Tubalord11 Posted October 11, 2025 Posted October 11, 2025 Yeah so Marcus is inane. That percussion feature, be so fr. Ballad almost had me in tears. They are a marching concert band and always will be. Wish they were going to the San Antonio SR but im beyond excited to see that tonight. OGFISD99 1 Quote

Popular Post MarchingMafia Posted October 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted October 11, 2025 I'm simply blown away by the quality of the shows today - just really incredible. I don't think there's another area of the country that can touch North Texas for concentration of power house marching bands. Marcus was amazing as always. There were so many things happening that I probably missed half of it but their sound was like the chef's kiss for me today. Tubalord11, icym__, astronautika and 1 other 4 Quote
