Now this is gonna be interesting. Watching them at Area they seem like a band who has real finalist potential, just depends on their show. Cant wait to watch them.

Dropping prediction now to see how I do in the pre-season guessing, this year will likely be a little more consistent with Bedford since a lot of repeat contenders will be here along with Marcus being a predictable 1st:

The Lake Hamilton Power Band is back to back 6A state marching champions (‘22 & ‘23). They made it to semis at Grand Nationals in 2023 and placed 3rd in the AA division. They should bring a good show!

I think it’s a solid list. My only problem is where to put McKinney North. Assuming they do another Jazz show I think they could fall anywhere from 10th to just outside finals like last year. I feel like it’s a solid list though

I think the thing with Rock Hill was that they were very hyped up to make finals last year. I’d say they’re on the bubble to make finals again, but they got as good a shot as anyone competing.

From what Ive been seeing about North, I doubt they drop below 11th since they're really pushing to maintain state finalist level, I don't see them dropping below finals, but their ceiling is incredibly vague right now. I think their absolute ceiling is 7th, but 10th is where they will settle if everything stays the same as last year which will NOT be the case for any season haha

Don’t get me wrong, I love McKinney North, I’m just keeping my options open. I think they can make finals, but I’m definitely a person who knows anything can happen. My mindset is BlueCoats 2024 😂(change is everything)

Yeah I think last seasons show just wasn’t as strong but 22& 23 were amazing

Something I’ve noticed, on the participating bands it does not list Greenville. But when I checked the band website, they still very clearly have it on their calendar. Just something I noticed.

Yeah I think it’ll be close to this. It’s really those last 3-4 spots that will be fought for between like 8-10 groups

They’ll most likely join the bubble band range as well. Just depends on what their run and show look like.

I would agree with this, but I think the bubble bands placements might be very show dependent. I def. expect Rock Hill to bounce back from going 6th in 2023 to 15th last year. Interested to see how the McKinney schools do, since some shows have been favorable to the BOA format, and some have not.

Yeah, honestly anything could happen with these shows. I haven’t seen anything from anyone sooo it’s off to waiting.

How many make finals. There are probably 15-16 bands here that routinely make finals of any contest they go to!
