  1. Loved Blue Springs show. One of my favorites of the evening.
  2. Holysmokesbatman. I knew this contest was very competitive but wow.
  3. I don't recall having to pay anything for parking. I think I remember paying $8-10 to get in. It's been a few years since I went. In fact I went in 2010 to watch this particular show from RR, The Dragon. My son was a member of Rock Drums.
  4. I agree band kids eat, sleep and dream marching.
  5. I agree I think The Woodlands will win this year.
  6. What band are you in? I'll keep my eyes out for you guys.
  7. Yes this schedule comes from the Music for All site. It's legit.
  8. I wouldn't say their color guard is weak, just small. It's hard to make a big impact with a small guard. I've seen them perform at winterguard competitions. They are in the open class which is quite high, and they are very good.
  9. San Antonio, TX Final Packet. Schedule is not out yet.
  10. I think a lot of bands don't show all their cards until BOA SA finals. I know RR doesn't. It would be nice to see TWO bands from RRISD in finals.
  11. Well RR has been around for a while and more of a UIL style. They changed over to a BOA style band in 2010 with a change in staff. So for a band that just recently changed in that sense making finals in 2011 and 2012 at San Antonio is no small feat.
  12. I believe RR got percussion, auxilary in finals.
  13. Great contest yesterday. Feel band for Anderson not being able to perform in finals.
  14. Round Rock had a bunch of changes starting in 2010. A new music arranger, drill writer and a new color guard director. Their color guard director has been a major reason why RR has become more BOA friendly. He brought their color guard back from the dead and has made them one of the best in the state. He also works quite a bit with the band, designs their shows ect.. Last year they added a new assistant director. He was recently named the visual caption head at Phantom Regiment, where he is starting his 7th season as an instructor. This year they added another assistant director. She was formerly a drum major at Cedar Park, if any of you CP peeps remember Katie Rozacky. While attending UNT she worked with Marcus, she also is currently a staff member with Carolina Crown. They are both very impressive additions to RR's staff.
  15. I haven't seen a list yet, but I know Round Rock is going.
  16. She's works with Carolina Crown. She also worked with Marcus and was a drum major for Cedar Park.
  17. I watched the Lehman video. I'll also see you guys at BOA Austin!
  18. I heard that the drumline/pit have been spending a great deal of time working with the band and very little time for themselves as Grand Nationals is the bands main focus this season. The cymbal chicks have no tech this season. They almost didn't have cymbals this year.
  19. Disappointed that Hebron is not coming to Austin BOA anymore. I was looking forward to seeing them.
  20. Google Austin American Statesman. Go to sports, scroll down to high school football and then to battle of the bands. This week they feature Vandegrift and Hendrickson. Last week they had Cedar Ridge. Look for the 2013 schedule, you can click on Cedar Ridge from there.
  21. Round Rock 1st place with best cymbals and front ensemble.
  22. I was hoping nobody would notice.
  23. Central Texas (a part of which is the Texas Hill Country), is a region (and a physiographic section within the Great Plains province, as it pertains to geography[1]) in the U.S. state of Texas. It is roughly bordered by San Marcos to Fredericksburg to Waco, and to Brenham, and includes the Austin
  24. RRISD stadium seating capacity is 11,000. I believe the seating capacity in Conroe is smaller. I was told by a Bowie parent that Bowie didn't attend Westlake because they were saving money for GN.
