The thing that i don't like is the difference between UIL and BOA. I know this has already been discussed, but 8 minutes just isn't an adequate amount of time for a high quality show. We added about 2 and half minutes of music to our show between UIL and san antonio which was about 2 weeks i think. The UIL and BOA should try to collaborate on their rules and make it easier on bands to prepare for their competitions. I know some bands just prepare a BOA show when it's not a state year and I guess that works. Reagan's show this year was about 11 minutes long this year I beleive. So what I guess I would like to know is, how do they cut up their show for UIL? I don't know, sorry if I opened an entirely different can of worms.

anybody else see them on the Macy's thanksgiving day parade? they were pretty awesome compared to all of those high school bands that went. Anybody know of any bands from Texas that went? I didn't watch all of the parade so I don't know if there were.

I thought Richland got ripped off big time. There were at least two or three bands in front of them that weren't better, in my mind.

we're going to that boa concert festival thing too. my hopes just got squashed. maybe there will be snow, that's something to look forward to.

yeah whoever it was at westlake that made up some chant for every band they watched at pre-lims they should get it. like i remember, "you rock round rock", as long as this award doesn't require originality...

November 12, same day as orchestra try-outs. some us might not get to go to the try outs, just depends on what time we perform.

so the biggest, (in terms of participants), drumline competition in the US is in a couple weeks. planning on going? predictions?

oh yeah, we didn't play it last night, but the battery has figured out how to play the whisper song, so we've invented some very original dances for that. and its all clean, of course.

I'm really bored too. Hmm maybe you should go check out the new georgetown recordings of scheherazade, thats a good idea.

End of third quarter. both teams on sidelines. Kid runs out onto field with a thong on, i don't know where he got on at, runs to the gate at the end of field, runs out the exit, cops chasing him, and runs until he gets to a car with some one waiting for him. drives off into the country some where most likely. funniest part was watching one of the cops, who had to of weighed 300 lbs, chase this kid who was probably faster than half of the football players.

Hey man, that was freaking hilarious! that kid is, or maybe now was, in my history class. He was telling everybody he was going to do it so he's already busted. but he did have a get-away car ready so gotta give him some props there.

Yall's bassoon player who does the solo, Billy Short right? he is amazing.

Well obviously you would pick them out for getting a 2 because it isn't expected. You would expect a band like Cedar Park to get all 1's at UIL. But i understand what you mean about having bad days or not focused days. I mean if somebody like Stony Point or Mcneil got straight 2's or 3's nobody would really mention it, so in a way, it's almost like a compliment to cedar park.
