  5. i've seen the ads for those ones with headphones inside music folders that they give you at reigon clinic. it's called silent brass or something.
  6. you gotta have some contrast in a show. it can't be all out blaring high c's the whole way. they help you appreciate those moments.
  7. Had a lot of color gaurd people and 4 drumline kids in teal sound last year.
  8. I know you can request a piece to be added to the pml list. I wonder how long it takes for it to be added.

  19. a question i have that might be irrelevant to this topic is, why do some of those high school snare lines use snare shields/projectors/scoops in the alamodome? Isn't it already loud enough in there that the sound already projects enough? i guess it just depends on how loud the band is.
  20. assistant director played trumpet with phantom for 93-95, and has been the brass caption head at phantom the past 2 years. Pit director was in SCV in 98 and blue devils in 99. drumline director won the pasic indivudal snare drum in 95 and was in scv for 3 years. and the colorgaurd guy was in cavaliers but i don't know what years

  23. That is ridiculous. I doubt that will ever happen, I mean haven't those legislatures seen the relationship between the kids that are in band and smart kids? I don't know if there is an actual published ratio, it would be interesting to see. But yeah, some of those legislators must be dilusional lol.
  24. I'd rather just not play at halftime, and just play after the game like we do at homecoming. It would be a better setting because you really can't hear well front to back, (pit to battery), while some fat lard eats his nachos, belches, and screams to his buddy across the stands. Why not just wait untill the game is over and all the people who don't care about the band can leave and then the band has a tame audience and a good listening situation. I know this would be breaking 101 years of tradition or what ever, but sometimes things just need to change for the better.
