It was a great movie from start to finish!!! The only part I disliked was the part where the camera spinned along with Kong after the Empire State Building scene. Oh man, can you say motion sickness!!!

Nice change of topic!!! My former private lesson teacher's wife (that is now teaching at an university) had her baby the day of my lesson. -

You played excerpts from these pieces. You took the melody out of its context. Its like taking the words "Baby Got Back" out of that respective song and not explaining whe she has a huge butt. And what does not giving the composers their respective credit have to due with this conversation? I respect Paul Hindemith and Leonard Bernstein for their fabulous pieces. -

They did not play these pieces. They can not say they actually played Symphonic Metamorphosis and Profanation. They played a couple of measures of each piece that was spread over the entire show. No, I am not dogging them for their musical selection. I just think it is wrong for them to say they played the pieces when they didn't. edited: the quote -
Symphonic Metamorphosis (all 4 movements)-Paul Hindemith Four Scottish Dances (frolicky piece to play)-Malcolm Arnold Niagra Falls (not the cheesy Cavalier version, if you want to hear the original, pm me)- Michael Daugherty Southern Harmony-Donald Grantham Hymn of the Highlands-Philip Sparke Pantomime-Philip Sparke Violin Concerto Opus 14 (first three movements)-Samuel Barber Adagio for Strings-Samuel Barber Planet Suite-Gustav Holst Symphony No. 4, Symphony No. 5, Symphony No. 10-Dmitri Shostakovich Flight of the Bumblebee-Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov Russian Christmas Music-Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov Hobbits- Johann de Meij These are just a few of my favorites.

But that is where you are wrong. You are thinking about our show and its second movement. I am talking strictly from a musical standpoint. I definitely would not use Michael Gaines as the drillwriter because of his lack of focus, his need to be lazy, and the lack of originality. I've marched to most of that music and its not hard. -

I am changing the intro to: Introduction to Fourth Ballet Suite - Dmitri Shostakovich and moving Mars between the two ballads as a transitition into Jupiter. -

In the same show, I would like to hear: Intro: Mars by Holst Opener: Ottorino Respighi's Church Windows Mvmt II Ballad 1:Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto Op. 14, Mvmt II Ballad 2: Jupiter by Holst Closer: Excerpts from Niagra Falls by Michael Daugherty End: Malaga by Bill Holman as performed by the '95 Madison Scouts You have to admit that this would be one heck of a show.
