Yes---they have some music abilitity and they can sort of flat out play. But there are better bands that have greater music ability and that can flat out rock the crowds. I've noticed that since their inception as a high school that they produce better placement results in BOA than in UIL. I stick with my placements. -

The only 5A Area I know about is Area D. Here is a list of top competitors: Cedar Park Leander Winston Churchill Ronald Reagan James Bowie (Austin) Judson Seguin Westlake How it will pan out in Area D (in my opinion) according to how UIL works: 1) Cedar Park (2nd in State Finals '04) 2) Winston Churchill (5th in State Finals '04) 3) Ronald Reagan (8th in State Finals in '04) 4) James Bowie (9th in State Finals in '04) Just think...What would happen if with the Conroe, Spring, and Klein districts were still in this Area. Add the Woodlands, Spring, Westfield, Klein Forest, and Klein to the mix. You might even have the 2nd place at Grand Nats in '05 band watching from home. Other "good" Areas are Area E and Area F. But probably the best is Area D. -

Really.....because I thought Mercury was suppose to be what the planet Saturn should be like. -

Three of my votes: 1984 Cadets, 1989 Phantom Regiment, and 1993 Star of Indiana made it. I am really suprised that 1995 Madison Scouts did not make it. Though there is always next year. But there is still a twist in the process. Maybe there is going to be a wildcard or we get to vote for the number one corps out these twelve. We will not know until March 3. Should be a great show!!! See you at the movie theater.

Friday (Tomorrow) @ 6:00 P.M. Central Time Results of the 2006 DCI Classic Countdown!!!! Who will win the overall vote? Is it the 1995 Madison Scout's high and loud sound to capture the title or will 1993 Star of Indiana's finesse take it away? Or can an underdog come out of no where (2000 Cavaliers? 1984 Garfield Cadets? or even the 2005 Bluecoats?) and hold the bragging rights over everyone else? Can't wait!!!!!!!

Winner of the 2000 Texas Triple Crown Bands of America 1st Place - San Antonio Bands of America 1st Place - Houston UIL Marching Band State Champion Hmmm....I pretty sure they do have really good talent. Along with Ronald Reagan, Winston Churchill, Cedar Park, Westfield, Spring, SFA, James Bowie, Cy-Fair, Berkner, and so on and so on. Gotta love the self-hype. -
