2007 World Championships Logo Revealed Drum Corps International is pleased to debut the logo for the 2007 DCI World Championships, Aug. 7-11 in Pasadena, Calif. This will be the first time in 35 years that the DCI World Championships will be held in California, a state with more actively participating drum corps than any other. The logo is designed by Greg Marko of BrandHouse, Inc., a strategic design and branding firm specializing in packaging, identities and graphics for leading companies and brands. Prior to creating BrandHouse with his brother Geoff, Marko has had the opportunity to work with many recognizable brands from Sarah Lee, Nestle and Boston Market, to Coca-Cola and Coors, among others. Marko is a former drum corps member, staffer and current fan. He was a percussionist with the Cavaliers in 1977 and 1980, and he also served as a Blue Knights staff member from 1983-85.

What corps do you think will win the visual caption in '06? Let the discussion begin...

If they shut down, which they wont (because if it comes to that point, I am pretty sure the DCI community would come together and raise money for them), nothing much would happen. It would be the same as the Troopers going inactive.

To clarify: I was trying to help get the topic back to the original topic. Then I posed a question. m'kay?

Back to the original topic: Who is ready for the season to start? *raises both hands*

This show is starting to remind me of the Velvet Knights '92. That could be a good and/or bad thing. Like I said, I am going to wait until I see their show in person in San Antonio until I judge them and give my opinion.

UIL Champion Arranger

Yes...that is what I said. -
It seems to me that they have a good show concept. I am really looking foward to seeing it in San Antonio this year. Plus I know one of their guard girls. I think someone (*cough* Dan) is upset about something .

Well...they did last year. And when they won the champioship two years ago, they played against a Lakers team that was about to split. So...even though they had the best record this year...they still have to play and win. And besides the Cavs only have LeBron. He can only do so much until he is worn out. Spurs lead the series 1-0 over the Mavs. Pistons lead the series 1-0 over the Cavs. Nets lead the series 1-0 over the Heat. Suns lead the series 1-0 over the Clippers.

Well...I interpreted it as Champioship hype. Anyways...this season is going to be good!

Kobe was second in 1st-place votes but fourth overall. This is what ESPN reported as for the final vote standing: 1) Nash 2) James 3) Dirk 4) Kobe 5) Chauncy Billups

Well...if a 50th anniversary didnt motivate the Cavaliers to a championship in their year, what is so special about Phantom's 50th? I could say the same about the Blue Devils, Cavaliers, Bluecoats, SCV, Crown, etc. Blue Devils playing the music of The Godfather---going back to their roots. I am just trying to comprehend why people are certain that this year (the big five-o) is the year for them to get a second championship. Yes they have a good staff and a good return rate, but so does the Blue Devils, Cavs, Bluecoats, etc. But we can always go back and see their history of placements compared to the Blue Devils and Cadets. BD---11 Championships, only one time out of the top four (5th place in '91) since '74. Cadets---9 Championships, owned the 80s and tied for the highest score in DCI history. Phantom---1 World Championship (tied for it too). Hey---they might win this year...but I am willing to bet that it wont be them this year (Because BD will p0wn everyone ).

The original Hummer is the best. Size, speed, and durability. The H2 just plain sucks. H3 is more of a consumer vehicle and is smaller than the previous two. But hey, what do I know? I voted NO.

Spurs lead the series 1-0 Mavs. Pistons lead the series 1-0 over the Cavs. The Cavs got slaughtered 113-86. In other news...Steve Nash is MVP for the second time. Behind him was LeBron and Dirk. That is messed up. Kobe goes off for 81, averages 35+ a game, and leads the Shaq-less Lakers to the playoffs.
