  1. I disagree with that statement Jennifer.
  2. Dont forget about the Houston and DFW bands. But hey, Central Texas is pretty good too!!!
  3. OMG--That is a lot of music!!! I hope they can build off the success of last year.
  4. April 27th at 7 PM.
  5. Wind Ensemble- 1 1 1 1 1 1 Symphonic- 1 1 1 1 1 1 Concert- 1 1 1 1 1 2 Cadet- 1 2 1 2 2 3 I am not sure about the last one. But like Jennifer said, we recieved an overall division one for all four bands on stage. Does anybody know how Spring and Leander performed (besides the ratings)?
  6. At our school. We dont combine the pit and drumline... and call it: Get this.. A Drumline and The Cymbals and A Pit Section!!! But hey, this is what is at my school.
  7. Here is my preference of corps for '89: 1) SCV 2) Blue Devils T-3) Phantom Regiment T-3) Cadets
  8. Nice poem...it is very true. I like the end where Ctrl-Alt-Delete is repeated--it had great meaning--and in more than just one way.
  9. Wow....hooray for a new word game!!!! NOT Why dont you participate in the real word game?
  10. Just for clarity sake, what band were you talking about?
  11. I really enjoy all the stuff that you guys do for the site, for free!
  12. Really..a judge changed their scores? I did not hear that...and I go there. But hey...we deserved the 1 1 2. Go look at the video in the media section, that was our performance. And just because Mr. Morrison left to pursue another endouver, doesnt mean that it affected the marching band. Mr. Spicer has led the marching band for the last two years. But I do not necessarily agree with the SA results (mainly because I wanted one more performance since I am graduating this year). But then again..that is another story for another time. If you want me to give you reasons why CP is going to have a better year than last, then pm me. I dont want people to think certain things..if you know what I mean.
  13. Sorry for coming off too strong. I too don't have that much money to spend. Lessons for me cost about $40 a month (so about $10 a week). And I have an amazing lesson teacher too. But I, in my opinion, would prefer to have my lesson teacher, who has many accolades and such, to tell me the correct way to practice than to have a person I don't even know (and doesn't know my playing abilities) to give me a general idea how to practice for what I need.
  14. Why would I want this book? It is useless to me. Besides, that is what a lesson teacher is for.
  15. Ok--what type of stuff do you need?
  16. So is there anything I can help with?
  17. I am going to take a guess and say that it is a book about how to practice correctly. Because that is where most people fail. I used to practice a lot, but I never got any better (by my standards). But then, I slowly learned how to practice. Now, I have the decision to make between the music schools at UT Austin and the University of Houston. But that is just my two cents on the matter.
  18. I will gladly help. What do you need help with?
  19. What happened to the following: 1) Updated podcast (at least one every month--last one being in February..is April now) 2) Weekly musician bios. 3) Weekly piece analysis 4) The TxBands Newsletter 5) Prediction awards Just wondering...
