I have a crazy hunch that this contest is going to have some eyebrow raising results. Hebron will march away with a 2-3 point win imo. However, I have a sneaking feeling that Rockwall is going to sneak up on someone like Keller, SLC, or Wylie. Even though all 3 beat Rockwall at BOA prosper….OWB going to surprise someone and leave them wondering what happened. Super curious to see point differences between the Area 6C bands going 1 week out from Area…contest. Depending how things fall, it could be a mad dash to Nov 2 and that 6AC board will be 🔥 🔥 🔥 for the week.

An 1.5 hour break, after just 4 bands seems strange to me. Awards at 4, and all 16 bands going to finals…anybody have a a guess on what time finals would start (my guess is 6pm) and how they have ordered finals in past? Have a 3rd child with a commitment that day we have to work around. 😂

Can’t wait to see Heath’s full show! I think they can compete for finals spot. I know many were surprised they didn't make Don Hanna Finals (missed by a point)….but I heard there show wasn’t complete yet and didn’t have enough on field to be scored completely 🤷. We shall see. I don’t expect them to make finals at Waco. This will be their first time dipping their toes in at BoA. But I hope its a great experience for the kids and can give them a boost of confidence going into area. I feel like they are really challenging themselves vs going to a Royse City contest they have Grand Championed at the past few years. That’s no disrespect to the RC contest. But the McKinney and BOA’s is simply a step up in competition. Go Heath!

Rockwall has held their own with Sac the past few years. My mind has slept a Few times since the past 2 areas but Rockwall and Sac have been pretty close right behind the Top Dogs, Wylies, and McKinney’s. Wouldn’t be surprised if one year one was higher and the next they flipped.

That paper rock scissors for 2 spots could be tense. What would one ☝️ of these 3 have to do to separate from the other two and maybe compete with 1 and 2?

It’s Royse City, but considering I still hear people say Rockwell, so I guess it could be worse.

Hypothetical question @Tubalord11, coming off Rockwall’s first BOA final at Prosper, could they make finals here? They aren’t competing, strictly curious. Who are some dark horses to make finals here?

Not a bad list at all. Having seen many of these bands already this year…..I would probably agree Marcus of Hebron right now….but honestly, probably a best 2 of three paper, rock, scissors with a few ties in there. I would flip 7-8, 10-11, 14-15 But would not be shocked at all to see your lisy unfold.

Agreed. Love how these bands support each other. Probably helps that some members were in band together at Utley. Hope that doesn’t change when New Middle School 4 opens next year and there is a true split.

Have sworn off predictions after happy and sad surprises this year….haha. However, maybe I will try again. I found the list of judges, need to see what I can find out about them. Question, because it may impact predictions…their visual judges say “GE/Visual” do they use a boa model of judging here over uil?

My personal favorite is probably Hamilton or the Lion King? Should I make more?

Not much to really add but saw I was at 399 post on the forums and might as well go to bed on a whole round number of 400 so will create another analogy…saying one band has better outcomes this season than another band may be factually correct….but to borrow a college football analogy, BOA would be and SEC game and some of these other band comps would be a Pulan Weedeater Bowl 😂

With no disrespect to the Royse City Marching contest, comparing results to North Forney winning 1st at RC vs Forney not making finals at BOA (think they were 13)…..well that’s like comparing a Whataburger to a Whopper Junior 😂 Have not seen either band yet this season but expecting strong showings at area for both.

When looking at how amazing the bands were at Prosper…look at this info! (Note, just researched for fun and curiosity. It should be noted that each contest has different judges that may score in different ways…so this shouldn’t be used for college level resources, bahahah) That said….Rockwall finished 12th with a score of 77.450 If Rockwall had attended every other BOA event this year (where results were easily found) and scored the same 77.450, this is where they would have finished at those events… 12th place Prosper 77.450 Toledo-1st Las Cruces-1st McAllen-1st Moscow-2nd Obetz-3rd De Moines-3rd Chattenooga-3rd Odessa-4th Vestavia Hills-5th Conway 6th Flagstaff-5 Memphis-6 Round Rock-7th Shenandoha- 7th San Marcis-8th Bedford-11th Webster-12
