Has anyone heard any updates on Lovejoy’s bad luck at Region? These bands are such well oiled machines, how do you go over on time?

Saw West Mesquite at the Mesquite Marching Festival and was SUPER impressed

Azle, so much to see from a band this size. Kids should be proud. Loved the strength of the Tubas. Now forgive me as i pass out before JFND!!!

The one kid that stood on it. That’s incredible focus. I can’t step off an unexpected curb let alone stand on a rifle!

Definitely a fun show! The battle scenes were intense!

Between BOA DFW and BOA Prosper…. It’s definitely a time to go all out. There won’t be a finalist spot that isnt earned and will likely be 5-6 bands that would have made finals at almost any other BOA event (minus DFW) Hope everyone runs their best and best of luck to all of those going to Region after prelims tomorrow! Shall the 1’s fall your way!

My last BOA Bedford post. “Fun with Numbers” Rockwall finished 16th in prelims with a 77.2. Was curious how that score would compare at other BOA’s this year. Now must suspend reality in that each one has different judges. But for sake of numbers, will pretend all is the same. 77.2 makes finals at all other 14 BOA events and places first at several. This isn’t a bitter post. Its admiration at all of these amazing bands that put in hours and hours of work each week on top of keeping up with their school work. If your band student marched at BOA Bedford, this band dad is proud of each of you. March and study hard these next few weeks! Where Rockwall would have been… BOA Prelims Where would RHS have fallen! Being a teacher…I’m all about looking at growth. If I counted correctly, 10 bands in Prosper competed at BOA Bedford last weekend. Here are their prelim scores/ranks. Wakeland 84.1 (4) Timber Creek 82.025 (7) LD Bell 81.6 (8) Waxahachi 81.050 (9) Southlake Carol 80.650 (10) Keller Central 77.75 (12) Forney 77.55 (13) Rockwall. 77.2 (16) Grapevine 74.55 (18) Sachse 74.35 (19) Looking to see how these 10 schools perform in prelims this week as they tune up for Region/Area.

Definitely think it has been a positive for Rockwall to see the top tier and learn. They are in Area with the Lewisvilles and Wylies of world. From parent point of view, not a fan of doing both local BOA’s. Family of 4 to go watch prelims and finals if made, times back to back weekends is tough.

Thanks. Definitely another top of the bunch one I missed. Makes little tighter for those battling for last few Final spots. General question for all…. The top tier bands are going to be ready for Region and Area no matter what. More asking about those bands that could finish anywhere from 9-15 at BOA. Would you rather have the BOA experience, get a solid run but miss finals. Or would you rather go to another one of these solid but not as stacked contest and get 2 good runs of your show? I can see benefits both ways.
