  1. I didn’t see Plano, but looking at their scores from Judges for Plano East, wonder if the electric guitar 🎸 just didnt vibe with judges. 🤷‍♂️
  2. Ok, one more post because heard something interesting. A lot of post about why did band xyz not make finals or why did Zyx make it, etc etc. This forum has been really consistent pointing out how hard this area would be to make finals and state Since 2018, so last 5 years…there are ONLY 5 schools that have made Finals each of those years! Hebron, Flomo, Marcus, Wylie, and Rockwall So, that’s 7 spots that have been up for grabs every year. If this year wasn’t your bands year, maybe next year! Can’t take anything for granted!
  3. Time for my forum break! Good luck to the state bound bands!
  4. As I’ve mentioned, I feel like Heath’s show was really good this year. Program showed growth despite not seeing the results. A lot of great bands missed finals. As I predicted other day, many bands will he left scratching heads. As for going from RC Grand Champion to down the list…..level of competition. Ive grumbled about Rockwall doing multiple BOA’s but it’s possible the exposure showed them how to push themselves even more
  5. Stole fizzy lifting drink. Ceilings had to be cleaned.
  6. It’s another thing that makes it unpredictable for sure.
  7. Can we also talk about the anxiety with multiple schools that start with Rock…….. or Wylie…. or Flower……(oh wait, they usually both getting good news) 😂
  8. Because even they get nervous. Last night Sweet HebronBetty Lou was having an anxiety attack when finals were being announced. After Rockwall was announced she put her hand on my shoulder, congratulated me (she had talked about how much she liked our concept). I told her, I think she will be OK, haha. Glad they were called two bands later. 😂
  9. 👀 🤔 I don’t think that would get to the judges but does make curious minds want to know.
  10. Really enjoyed their show! Proud of those kids. Not my band but they always made me smile
  11. Thus far, I would anticipate Finals being top heavy from first 2 blocks but plenty of great bands this afternoon.
  12. I missed a few bands but of the 12 I saw, nothing really surprised me either way. A lot of these schools could be even more amazing if given a chance in Finals. Feel like the top half (first 2 blocks) today is slightly stronger but still some really great bands in block 3 and 4. It’s heating up so hope all bands are hydrating.
  13. Really enjoyed them. That’s a hard place to perform after Hebron but think they handled beautifully. Fingers crossed for another run today for you guys!
  14. Liked Braswell but nerves were still all over place after RHS. Haha Hoping RHS gets to perform under the lights!
  15. Solid. The electric guitar steals show. Found myself watching him and forgetting the march.
  16. A lot to see in Marcus. Hard to tell where show “starts”. 8 minute clock took awhile to start and then finished at 29 seconds. Very clean like their uniforms.
  17. Not sure. Think Prosper tied 6 last year and Boyd went on tie breaker. Could be wrong.
  18. The Plano East Band. Electronic Guitar definitely gets to focus. Wanted to like it more as a whole.
  19. Proud of the Rockwall Heath Band! This stadium was electrified by Hebron. They came out with a solid run. Have seen show several times this year and this one was of their best. Not sure enough for finals but they are headed in right direction!
  20. Not that I know of, but should call it BOA Area C
  21. It’s Hebron and everyone else. The real deal. From moment they take the field…the hero solo…chills…a few uncharacteristic rifle drops and squeaks. Does not matter. Un flipping real! Take my money, take my children.
  22. Sachse in tough spot between Boyd and Hebron but had nice moments. Liked pre show. The color bombs startled me. Ha.
  23. McKinney Boyd starting the day off with a reminder of why they made state last year. Really enjoyed flute solo.
  24. First “Band” to take the field this morning are the Rocking Black Bird Band from Birdville ISD. They are performing as an exhibition band. They are a bit pitchy. Formations strong. Flying towards to South endzone.
