I thought they were fantastic! Very clean and really solid show. Will be a top band today.

Nimitz’s show was an absolute blast. Great soloists, fun ‘70s theme. Crowd favorite for sure! Solid marching and playing.

I still have yet to see a schedule for this comp. Anyone find it?

I am not sure if this is the most current schedule, though I haven’t found one myself. Nimitz’s Insta page says their prelims run is at 2:15 p.m., Poteet says their run is at 4, and HP has this contest on their calendar and they aren’t listed. I’ll keep searching! 🫠

Yes! Lakeview, Kaufman and HP all made a strong showing. When all shows have the last set on the field and with continuous improvement - all of these bands have an excellent shot at state. I do feel like HP is back to the level of performance that they used to have, which is nice to see. I didn’t get to see Poteet but absolutely expect them to be in contention too.

I hope so too! And I think the new director will help them rebuild!

Highland Park has a new band director, who knows how to compete. Hopefully that means that HP will finish better than the bottom. I hope so...they've had a few challenging years recently. That said, should be a very fun and competitive contest - great bands here!

Thank you for all these!! 😊 Did anyone see Highland Park? My kid was in that band program from 2019-23. So curious as to how they did. I know they are smaller now.

I’m thinking about the bands that performed at prelims, went to Region, and then are back at finals. Wow…what a long day!

Amazing performances by everyone. I don’t envy the judges. Man, I wish there were 15 finals spots.

This should be a really fun competition! I hope I'm able to go. I'm also excited to see how Highland Park's new show does - it's a bit different than years past, with a heavy jazz focus. Also excited to see Prosper, Rock Hill, Lake Highlands and several other bands I haven't seen before. And I think we might get decent weather. Woot!!

Looks like HP is not doing Mansfield anymore. They are participating in a drumline contest on this day instead.
