    No, sorry. The person who shared with me doesn't want their videos shared out. I wish I could but I need to respect their wishes. I'll be at the Cedar Park vs Vandy game next week and I'll try to get a good video to share.

    I just saw a recording of Cedar Park's Mirror Mirror. This is not the Cedar Park of the last few years. The sound is HUGE! It's brassy and mixed with some great front ensemble licks that get mimicked by the woods and brass later. They have not done brass licks like this in the past. Oh my....The director has put his stamp on the new Cedar Park sound I believe. This was the vision he had when I spoke with him about it a few years ago. Show design is hard to tell at this point in time and will change. There are some very bold large scale movements early. They have clearly designed this show for BOA contests.

    We all love competition marching bands. What the students and staff do every year through love, determination, perseverance, and pride is monumental. But I think that there is much more being achieved outside of contests in marching that we don't discuss here. So, here's a thread to make everyone feel amazing. Find something heartwarming or inspiring, stick it in this thread. Everyone needs their heart warmed or to be inspired. Here's my submission to get it started.     This has been an excellent finals. I think we a going to see the bottom half stay where they were in semi finals. Phantom's revised closer is so good and I've been high on the Troopers all season. The Mandarins are making me a big fan. Not just this show but in the merit of the previous 4 seasons. I love their direction and style as a "high art" drum corps.

It's a shame the Crossmen didn't make finals but they performed the heck out of that show tonight. Looking forward to tomorrow night.

    The Bluecoats Alumni Corps show is everything that DCI is, was, and will be. I would love to see Corps of that size march competitively. What a show. What an experience. My wife, son, and I were all on our feet yelling our heads off for them.

    From this afternoon's shows it seems to me that the Colts and Troopers are going to make finals. The Colts were solid and reliable. The Troopers doubled down on last night's show and really put in a solid performance this afternoon. Edit:: The crowd went nuts for the Troopers today.

    The Colts are so interesting to me. They are not marching the most demanding show and it doesn't feel fully cohesive to me. But their mastery of dynamics is incredible and a massive boost to the show. They are a case study in making the most and best of what you have. Troopers had a fantastic run tonight. So did the Bluecoats. I am really starting to like that show. Phantom in the top 10 is so nice to see and well deserved.

    Oh wow! BLOO put on their best show of the year. Changes to the show really helped out. This is now favorite BLOO show, not even close, but tonight's performance was really an excellent show. There's a lot to like in this show and now it's beginning to come together.

    So, I have it from an extremely reliable source that Vandy is going to be in very capable hands when Mr. Howard leaves. Very exciting opportunity for this director.
