Man, I cannot get enough of the last section of Vista Ridge's show. It is sooo good!

I appreciate you doing this, but yes- one post per band with the highlights would be nice!

Oooh! I want to know how Trinity looks, since they will be making the trip to Indy for the Super Regional this year.

Yeah, that's why I pointed it out. At the end of the day, I looked at my list and said "that's not right!" -referring to Cedar Ridge. Other than that, I seemed to have it basically right. I had the top three in order for every class except 4A where I had Round Rock in 3rd and Bowie in 4th, which I think is impressive, because I really have no idea what I am doing. Haha

CTJ really did look a lot better this week. I made my own rankings throughout the day, and somehow I ended up with Cedar Ridge much lower than I think they should have been. I remember enjoying their show, but I think because it was so early, when I was comparing bands I forgot how they were and put others over them and now I have them missing out on finals. Its so hard to anticipate what is going to happen when there are so many great groups and you aren't as trained to notice all of the technical details in the individuals.

Wasn't Hendrickson's show called "Blueprint for Life" or something like that? Seems like these Pflugerville schools like blueprints.

Wakeland could be close as well. Way to go Prosper!

Were they great? I have been excited to hear how they are in preparation for their trip to GNats.

Leander blew me away. Its got the perfect ratio of difficulty and interesting things going on to still being able to follow and enjoy and clean. Way to go Leander! Also, Rouse was a great surprise. They sounded really good. Who knows, maybe we will have a surprise finalist in them?

OK, that was fun from James Bowie! I honestly have no idea what was going on, but those props are visually appealing, haha!

Any weather estimate? I'm thinking of running and picking up some lunch and bringing it back (I should have done it earlier) but would hate for it to start back up while I am gone.

It seems to me like one of those shows that you begin to notice the subtleties in the drill that show the message the more you watch it.

I agree that all of the shows have been really good so far. I was expecting to enjoy Cedar Park's show more than I did. Like, it was impressive in many regards, but I didn't really like it.

Why were finals cancelled?

WOW Vista Ridge! Its not very often that sitting here at my computer, I actually vocalize my amazement. What a special show!

I didnt see Brazoswood, so I can't compare them, but I thought that Seven Lakes came out looking like a top contender, which is very impressive for such an early place in the season. Their show has a lot of potential.

I dont see a situation where they aren't in finals at area, personally. I also dont see them qualifying for state based on what I saw last week. But if they are able to make some good changes to their shiw to make it pop more, it does have potential. I really like the theme and the dark color scheme with stars.

They included Del Rio, didnt they? They looked very good at Midland, but didnt exactly live up to the 1st place hype you were giving them, did they?

Usually new school openings only take underclassmen anyways. So while the band may be smaller, the members overall will on average be older and more experienced.

I think Oak Ridge will be in the hunt for finals. They were great last year.

To clarify, Keller has only medaled in 4A. I just cant remember what year it was. I know it was late 90s, shortly before my family moved to the area while Fossil Ridge was still a relatively new school.

Was that the same year or the year after they medaled at state?
