Wow, no Cedar Park or Bowie. But, Congrats to Westlake and LD Bell for returning to finals! -

They vastly exceeded my expectations. It would not surprise me to see them make finals here, but more likely during UIL next week. -

OK, I ranked my favorite shows that I saw over the two days. I didn't see all of the shows, so groups like Hendrickson and Seven Lakes are not in this. 1. Reagan (1) 2. CTJ (2) 3. Flower Mound (2) 4. Hebron (1) 5. The Woodlands (2) 6. Vista Ridge (2) 7. Keller (1) 8. Vandegrift (2) 9. Leander (1) 10. Marcus (2) 11. Bowie (2) 12. Cedar Park (1) 13. Timber Creek (1) 14. Haltom (2) 15. Prosper (2) 16. Coppell (2) 17. Westlake (1) 18. Cedar Ridge (1) 19. Oak Ridge (2) 20. LD. Bell (1) 21. Round Rock (1) 22. Westwood (2) 23. College Park (1) 24. Pearland (2) 25. Churchill (2) 26. James E Taylor (1) 27. Spring (2) 28. Wylie (2) 29. John B Alexander (2) 30. James Martin (1) 31. Lake Travis (1) 32. Clear Brook (1) 33. Plano East (2) 34. Pflugerville (1) 35. Keller Central (1) This would make the finalists: Panel 1: Reagan Hebron Keller Leander Cedar Park Panel 2: CTJ Flower Mound The Woodlands Vista Ridge Vandegrift Final Four: Marcus (2) Bowie (2) Timber Creek (1) Haltom (2) Just my thoughts though. (Honestly, 13-24 in my opinion were all really close and I think all of them have a good shot) -

I thought Pearland performed really well! They should be proud. -

Ayala and Vista Murrieta are both fantastic bands that woild be difficult to beat. I am well aware of Ayala's success as I live in Utah, only a few minutes away from American Fork High School, which was just beaten by Ayala at the St George regional to end their 6 year win streak. -

Those last four bands were very enjoyable. Haltom has improved so much over the last few weeks. -

I thought Marcus was technically great but very forgettable. Not my favorite design of theirs. -

Did you forget Keller, or do you think they will be left out? -

Im so proud of Timber Creek! After Klein Oak is Camdenton. If you are at the Alamodome, be sure to stand up and cheer and give our visitors a Texas-sized welcome! -

I think that the rewind option was only made available for a week or two during the DFW/ Conroe regional. -

What are they feeding them over in Conroe ISD this year? That was a treat from College Park! I loved the "His Eye is on the Sparrow". Unfortunately, the feed gave out on me at the very end -

Did it bother anyone else when Friendswood threw those green balls and then just let them fall and the band had to march right through them all over the ground? That is a hazard just waiting to happen! It was so distracting! -

I think that for the most part it wont cause a lot of issues with who makes finals, but it will affect class placements and captions for prelims since those are merged. -

I think they were the best of the AAA groups, but they are in a different judging panel than Leander and Cedar Park, so it wouldnt surprise me for there to be discrepencies. -

I'm so glad I decided to wake up to watch Vista Ridge! What a great performance! I hope they are able to fix the microphone for the soloist that wasn't working during finals, because there is no way that that isn't going to be in finals. -

I have enjoyed their show more every time I have watched it. When I first saw it in Austin, I wasn't a fan. At DFW, I started to see some of the things that were good about it, and I think it really came together well today into a nice show. I think the execution level isn't quite at the level of the top half of finals this year, but they should be able to get into finals. -

Regarding Cedar Ridge, I agree that their music was phenomenal and even got an audible wow from me at one point. I thought their performance was a bit boring visually though and didnt have as much GE as I would hope. -

I ranked my the bands that I watched today somewhat based on how much I liked them and also somewhat based on how I think they will do, but I know that I am way off. Still, I will list in order here my ranking of the ones that I think would be good enough at another super regional to be in contention for finals. The First band I saw was Lehman, but I couldnt get my audio to work until Lake Travis. Reagan Flower Mound Keller Vandegrift Leander Bowie Cedar Park Westlake Cedar Ridge Round Rock Westwood Churchill James E Taylor John B Alexander Lake Travis Pflugerville Keller Central I was very pleasantly surprised by Westlake. I also thought Round Rock and Westwood were better than I expected. Keller Central disappointed me a little bit just because I usually love their performances and I didnt think this was as strong. I love Reagan's show this year. -

Yay Keller! I've still got the goosebumps from the part of the show where they change the panels and then hit you with that amazing chevron drill and music. That's such a great example of visual effect and music effect all in one. -

For a band that placed 27th out of 28 at McAllen in music this year, was anyone else impressed by Juarez-Lincoln's sound? Im not trained to know, but I am impressed at the improvement! -

The stuff at the end where they talk about the axhievements of the band. They said they are going to Macy's and that they were the 5th place finisher at 2016 UIL state finals. They even said Keller instead of Keller Central. -

They just read Keller's info for Keller Central. Oops!
