  1. I hear ya! I plan to run over to Leander at 7 tomorrow night and watch their March-a-thon Parent Performance. They should have the entire last movement on the field by tomorrow night. But I should easily be back by 8 pm to watch finals on FLO. I need to decide which bands to watch in prelims and which bands to save and wait to see in finals so I don't miss anyone that I really wanted to see!
  2. Well I made a side by side schedule in MS Word, but I can't upload it to this thread. I guess I ain't got those kind of privileges.
  3. Where's my HardCoreBandFan friend with the dual printable schedules? I guess I can make my own. <sigh> Life can be so hard sometimes!
  4. Oh that's right. A show similar to Leander's!
  5. Good thing Daniel will be in Dallas!
  6. Hmmmm...FloMo is all marching as giant Campbell's Soup cans? Interesting...
  7. oh I'm good at understatement. And Leander won Scholastic A class with a record high score at WGI this Spring (they were incredible), but I'm still very aware of how far Texas needs to go to rise to the level of the Open Class and World Class guards.
  8. I believe it would encourage the less competitive guards to up their game if they were rewarded for doing so. I’m no expert, other than being in color guard myself for 5 years, but I think they could come up with some basic criteria to rate a guard by. And bonus points for more variety in the use of equipment. Texas as a whole really needs to up our game in the guard world. As a whole, we are way behind.
  9. sounds like Austin last Saturday. What a mess!
  10. Absolutely, but it would be nice to see a separate caption for them.
  11. I really do wish BOA would add a caption for color guard. It seems like a no-brainer.
  12. I agree. I think The Woodlands take this one this year!
  13. Give the boy a break. He can’t help it if he wasn’t raised right.
  14. Hey, we miss you and your insight around here!!
  15. ouch. While I will agree that there has been an insane amount of possibly inflated build up out there from the Prosper fans, I wouldn't say that they have "no chance" to make finals in Dallas. There's often a surprise band that makes finals, and Prosper wouldn't exactly be a surprise at this point.
  16. ha...yeah, they ain't missing finals in Dallas for sure!!!
  17. Wow....all these predictions of The Woodlands winning it all at Conroe have me super anxious to see them. Looking forward to seeing Reagan as well. Wish I could be there in person this year!
  18. Absolutely. And I loved how they looked on the field. I'm pulling for them to make huge strides in the next year or two. I know the potential is there!!!!
  19. So that makes Jeremiah not nice and insane?
  20. Actually I think you ate the entire jumbo sized bag in less than an hour!
  21. Much bigger band this year. And Beautiful guard dresses. But overall I had much higher expectations for Glenn this fall considering their directors originally came from Bowie. And Weiss, who is even younger than Glenn, is much more advanced in their playing and marching. I’m not exactly sure what’s holding Glenn back, but they have a long way to go to catch up. I’m rooting for them, though.
  22. They did the coolest finale tonight at the LISD FOB. The bands all entered the backfield in a full retreat and then they placed all of the middle schoolers between the high schools on the field. And then the entire mass of bands all played Land of 1000 Dances together. Imagine if you will, Glen, Cedar Park, Leander, Vista Ridge. Rouse and Vandegrift along with all those middle schools playing the song together. It was awesome. Edit: There’s a video up on daTube of the finale.
  23. I don't remember hearing anything awful or painful in finals.
  24. I have to admit, we all got a big chuckle out of it when we saw the Whataburger logos on the front drops. I didn’t have any negative feedings about it at all. No, I definitely don’t want to see logos all over the props in the future, but it was very tastefully done. Ha....tastefully. Mmmmm.....burgers.... Remember last year at DFW when that band made a big W on the field? And the parents wore dark T-shirt’s with a big orange W on them. It was someone like Waxahachie or Wakefield. It made everyone want to run out and buy a Whataburger. Seriously though, more power to these bands if they can get sponsors. That’s great. And next fall, when Leander takes the field, you might hear something like, “This first movement is brought to you by Bush’s Chicken.” :D
