Del Rios Prelims run was not good, several timing issues and people out of step. In Finals they came back in a big way. The same thing happen to them at BOA midland in prelims and Finals. I hope I shed some light on the jump.

Yeah, I like Clarke in 10th, though Warren, Judson, Eagle Pass, Brennan are all in the running for that last spot.

I see your point and I think that can happen as well. But I think it’s more like 6-9. Brennen is just too unbalanced, aggressive, and out of tune to beat Del Rio.

I’m such a band nerd and watched the region 11 contest live, BOA Austin, Conroe, and Midland Live. I’ve also watched the latest videos on every band so I’m going to give my personal ranking of the bands at Area as off now. 1. Vandegrift 2. Leander 3. Vista Ridge 4. Lake Travis 5. Westlake 6. Del Rio 7. Warren ...................... 8. Brandies 9. Stevens 10. Judson 11. Brennan 12. O’Connor 13. Taft 14. Steele 15. Marshall 16. Clark 17. Clemens 18. Eagle Pass 19. East Central You region 29 and 32 folks what do you think? I didn’t go to Rocket Review which many of theses guys went head to head.

Yup! South San got a 122, talk about on the fence.

Yeah but East Central revived a 2 in 2017. I really hope all of region 11s bands pull through for the sake of everyone!

The Woodlands show is the best one today! Their music is also so enjoyable to listen too!

I think they will make Finals too. Churchill is still a great school but I do believe there are many bands closing in on the top and since kids are kids I would really like for BOA to be as fair as possible and hopefully Churchill being out of Finals is not something the judges take in mind in if there is a school that deserve to be in.

I’ll be Honest I am wondering how strong the bottom of Finals is because to be honest I and a lot of people (band directors included) didn’t think Churchill was very strong at Austin. For people to put them from 5-8 doesn’t show the bottom half of Finals very strong. Is that what everyone really thinks or is that what you think the judges will rank them.

Lake Travis sounded great in Austin! A lot can change from now until Area so I save my judgements. Good for those kids!!

I haven’t seen a performance on YouTube of SFA, Oak Ridge and Pearland. Dawson looks pretty good from that friendswood contest so I’m curious as how the above mentioned schools sound like since they topped them.

FE is entitled to his opinion, but frankly Stevens show that’s on YouTube from there US Bands is not Good and I don’t know why they would be that high. Del Rio did have some electronic and solo issues at Midland but to put Stevens higher or even that high above show a bias to NISD

Why is Westlake not attending this year?

I don’t think that’s Timber Creek from Keller. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’ve seen coppell and Del Rio. It is possible that they may end up on top.

I wouldn’t be suprised if Westwood sneaks in! Have you guys heard anything on Westlake? I also think Johnson might be lower but still in the top 3 and Vandergrift will win this one. Leander might be close to winning it all.

Yeah, Area H Finals last time was so exciting compared to what Area G was before. Money makes a huge difference as well as location. How many talented millennials do you think would would leave the big city suburbs and teach in Del Rio or Eagle Pass? That makes a big difference as well. So many other factors that can be said but in the end if you have great teachers anything is possible!
