  1. A solid performance from Coppell. That opener is super demanding. Love the ballad, great saxophone soloist and excellent sounds as a full ensemble. Definitely still a bit of dirt, and maybe a tear or two in the opener, but it should be good enough for the top half. I'm expecting a better run from them tonight.
  2. Decent performance from LD Bell, but there were some uncharacteristically splatty moments from the brass. Really liked their woodwinds though and the aesthetics are very pleasing to look at. Hope to see a better run from them tonight.
  3. That's a fun show from Rock Hill, thought the ending was very unique and cool
  4. That's a fairly demanding show from Southlake Carroll. Really like the aesthetic they're going with this year, but there is quite a bit of dirt both musically and visually right now. If they can get that cleaned up though then I think they have a good shot at finals in Indianapolis.
  5. The bicycle sets at the beginning is definitely a cool moment during Keller's show. Musically they sound good as they always have, and it was a solid performance overall but I think they can get a better run tonight.
  6. When I was watching James Martin I kept thinking that I've definitely seen this show already this year even though this is my first time watching James Martin. That must be it.
  7. Have to say this is easily Hebron's most challenging show visually and musically. The demand is off the charts but they're doing a good job taking it on. Love their saxophone soloists again and I really enjoy the more upbeat theme and music they're going with this year. Definitely had a tag ending, so they clearly aren't done adding. I'm excited to see how the show progresses!
  8. Good lord, that is insane. I remember when I was in high school it was normal to have maybe 2-4 holes at any given performance, but I couldn't imagine having a double digit amount of holes, much less 25.
  9. Wrong thread but love the predictions!
  10. Final Predictions: 1. Vandegrift (M/GE) 2. Ronald Reagan (V) 3. Vista Ridge 4. Cedar Park 5. Rouse 6. Round Rock 7. Leander 8. Hendrickson 9. John B. Alexander 10. Dripping Springs 11. McNeil 12. Louis D. Brandeis
  11. Final predictions: 1. Hebron (M/GE) 2. Flower Mound (V) 3. Marcus 4. Coppell 5. Wakeland 6. Keller 7. LD Bell 8. Timber Creek 9. Southlake Carroll 10. Waxahachie 11. Lone Star 12. Rock Hill
  12. Full recaps have been released. In prelims, Wakeland was 1st overall with a 81.60, Marcus 2nd with an 81.40, and Coppell 3rd with an 81.25.
  13. Saw a video on YouTube before it was taken down and they look fantastic once again. The same level of musical demand as they've always had but they're really pushing themselves visually too with the complexity of their drill. They will be a tough one to beat at Bedford.
  14. I actually think the last few years have been a little inflated in the early season regionals. Tonight's results seem a bit more in line to what regionals around this time of the year are scored about.
  15. Big congratulations to Cedar Ridge on their first (I think?) regional win! Beating two powerhouses in CTJ and Reagan is no easy feat to say the least!
  16. Wow, Wakeland with a great result here! Didn't get a chance to catch them in finals but they were really great in prelims. Looking at the scores overall, I was actually expecting the top 4 to be slightly higher, but it wasn't too far off. Next week will be very exciting!
  17. Reagan was really good tonight, a better run than prelims I think. They have some moments like the rotating woodwind and brass frontfield/backfield playing that's quite cool, and the technical demand of the show is impressive. The preshow is very cool, maybe my favorite one so far this season. It's a tough one for me between them and Cedar Ridge tonight, but I think I'll have to go with Cedar Ridge, with CTJ behind them both.
  18. Just finished watching Flower Mound. Not quite sure what to think about them this year. They sound really great and all of the technical passages were performed really well, but the show seems overly simplistic this year. A Superman themed show sounds interesting off the bat but after watching the show I'm not really sure into how the theme ties in other than their uniforms. Might just be something that I'll have to get used to watching it more and more but I'm just not sure about them this year.
  19. Coppell was fantastic. Musically they were phenomenal as they always are with the big standout moments, and I thought visually they were fairly clean for the most part. Compared to Marcus they're definitely more in your face and all about those big hits (at least until the ballad), but they pull it off very well. Their ballad might be my favorite I've seen so far this season, I'm a sucker for a great saxophone solo. Can't say for sure if they did enough to beat Marcus, but I definitely am looking forward to seeing this show develop over the season.
  20. Not the best run from CTJ, looks like they were having some electronic issues as the first soloists in the opener couldn't be heard at all. Despite that, I think they had a really good run musically, managing to nail some pretty difficult technical passages. The tenor sax soloist is very talented. I also have to say this ballad is starting to grow on me the more I listen to it; I really love the big hit once the vocalists come together. Visually it was a little bit dirty, you can tell that they haven't had as much time to polish as they would have liked. Don't think they'll win tonight (could be wrong of course) but given that they still have more to add I think they'll be just fine for the rest of the season.
  21. That will be a tough performance to top. Cedar Ridge's music performance is exceptional, but I have to give a shoutout to their color guard and percussion. They really nailed that performance, especially the feature in the middle.
  22. Thought Marcus had a much better run tonight than in the afternoon. They have another beautiful ballad this year and visually were very clean. Will be interesting to see if Coppell can top them later tonight.
  23. It's black screened for me in the past. Usually have to refresh a couple times and switch tabs for the stream to start again.
  24. Definitely just following BOA when they started doing it in 2016 after Hebron won Grand Nationals semifinals and then drew the first performing slot in finals in 2015.
