  1. In 2012 Marcus won the BOA San Antonio Super Regional sweeping captions and went on to win UIL State that year. In 2016 Flower Mound won the BOA San Antonio Super Regional sweeping captions and went on to win UIL State that year. Now that Hebron has won BOA San Antonio sweeping captions I think it's time for them to join their fellow Lewisville ISD bands and win UIL State!
  2. That was 110% deserved by Hebron!!! The music book they have this year is incredibly difficult yet they absolutely killed it!!! Visually they were the cleanest they've ever been and this is up there as one of my favorite shows Hebron's ever put out!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

  4. I'm thinking Hebron finally breaks their 2nd place finals curse and grabs a gold medal here. BUT I could also see CTJ pulling it out with that behemoth of a production. Those two and the Woodlands are my potential winners tonight, as I feel Vandegrift is just a tiny bit below those three.
  5. Reagan was much improved from their prelims run! Really enjoyed the show even with its similarities to Secret World and thought they performed it incredibly. The color guard at Reagan really is phenomenal. I have them pretty solidly behind the Woodlands, Hebron, CTJ, and Vandegrift, but that was a great run from Reagan nevertheless.
  6. Vandegrift is such an incredible band. Their music abilities are insane (the echo after the ballad hit was gorgeous) and visually they're executing at such a high level. I think I have them below The Woodlands, Hebron, and CTJ right now but that's no knock on them; the level of bands here tonight is unbelievable.
  7. Claudia Taylor Johnson is incredible. Phenomenal. Amazing. Absolutely my favorite production of the year and I am amazed at how well they execute a show with this level of demand!!!
  8. Cedar Ridge making a statement and proving why they were in the top half!! Phenomenal performance from them.
  9. That performance reminded me of the Drinkwater-era Marcus when they were at their peak. The absolute zenith of cleanliness and sounding like a wind symphony on the move. Beautiful performance from Marcus.
  10. Super clean performance from Cedar Park. Really enjoyed the music book for that production, and am glad to see them back in finals where they belong!
  11. Keller's winds are absolutely phenomenal! Loved their rendition of Hallelujah, and while I'm still not super convinced by the visual design of the show, they're executing it super well.
  12. Coppell has such a beautiful production this year. They really nailed the aesthetics of the show and the music book is as good as it's ever been from them. Great show and I'm so happy to see them back in San Antonio finals.
  13. Shuttlesworth was at Bowie before Glenn for about seven years and had a lot of success there.
  14. Incredible performances from both Rouse and Pearland, both being relative newcomers to the top bands of Texas. Super strong sounds from both! Can't believe this is just the bottom half.
  15. Vista Ridge laid it down!! They have an incredible brass section and the visual program is so much cleaner now than it was a few weeks ago. Really starting to enjoy this show now that I have an understanding of what it's about.
  16. Really enjoyed Leander! Not the flashiest production but it certainly is very fun to watch. The opener is one of my favorites and their trumpets are excellent.
  17. Really surprised that both bands weren't on your radar. Pearland was an SA finalist in 2019 and Coppell earned the bronze medal at St. Louis this year. I'm guessing Round Rock was around 15-17 and Johnson maybe around 20-23.
  18. The Woodlands H.S., TX - Panel 1 Vandegrift H.S., TX - Panel 2 Vista Ridge H.S., TX - Panel 2 Hebron H.S., TX - Panel 1 Marcus H.S., TX - Panel 2 Claudia Taylor Johnson H.S., TX - Panel 1 Coppell H.S., TX - Panel 1 Cedar Ridge H.S., TX - Panel 1 Ronald Reagan H.S., TX - Panel 2 Leander H.S., TX - Panel 1 Rouse H.S., TX - Panel 1 Cedar Park H.S., TX - Panel 2 Keller H.S, TX - Panel 1 Pearland H.S., TX - Panel 2 Eight bands from panel 1 and six bands from panel 2
  19. I do think typically it is harder to make finals at San Antonio than Grand Nationals with the depth of bands in Texas, however the level of competition at Grand Nationals is exceptionally high this year. With seven top Texas bands attending, combined with powerhouses like Broken Arrow and Blue Springs returning to Grand Nationals and the usual Midwestern stalwarts, Grand Nationals this year will be incredibly tough to make finals. Round Rock certainly has their work cut out for them, but they always are able to pull it out.
  20. Did not participate in BOA San Antonio this year. Will be at UIL State and Grand Nationals next week.
