  1. Missing the point that I said that one judge tanked them in the music ordinal with an “11” even with an 8, or a 7, that’s still not “state advancing”, but their total ordinal count would say otherwise. It’s not just about the fine margins here
  2. Wowww… Hebron swept all captions and subcaptions in finals and got 1-1-1-1-1 caption ordinals in both prelims and finals👀😮
  3. There are…issues with this, to say the least
  4. Lake Ridge got tanked by a music judge in finals, very much disagree with their opinion on the ensemble, and various others they made in prelims too. LR would’ve made state had that third music ordinal been around what the other two were…
  5. Is this kinda like a “nature is healing” moment?😂
  6. It may be a blessing in disguise with a less congested schedule for grand nats. No SA trip before grand nats, they’re gonna clean like crazy and ensure themselves a spot in finals there
  7. I may or may not have squealed a few times during Hebron’s performance…utter destruction…
  8. Why is every band in this area ridiculous and broken in some way???🤯🤯😦😦
  9. Yeah someone dm it to me too pls, whoever you are haha
  10. For those that were there, how was it?🙃👀
  11. Ok…Top 12 unordered prediction time: Coppell, KC, Keller, Highland Park, Duncanville, Timber Creek, Lake Ridge, Waxahachie, Bell, Haltom, Berkner, and…Carroll bit of suspense for the last one haha probably gonna be a “shock” pick or two with the 5 or so bands on the bubble for me. So many great groups at this contest👀
  12. If it’s the flavor of sound the judges are looking for, they’re in good shape! It was a great run from them, hopefully they have a great run in finals if they make it!
  13. It seems like every Keller school wants a piece of that Area Finals, SHEESH KELLER CENTRAL!! I didn’t know those mellos were gonna sound Hebron-esque today, SO MUCH HEAT🔥🔥 Woodwinds were also fantastic, one of the best woodwind choirs of the day for me, in a day full of great ones. The Tuba solo was also really good. I expect for them to be in finals👀
  14. Visual opinion is often much more volatile with judging, ESPECIALLY with UIL. Im not even gonna bother trying to prognosticate what those judges are thinking🙄😂
  15. Carpooling with a friend of mine to Mesquite so I thought ahead!✨✨
  16. I’m not gonna make any top 6 predictions, won’t be here to see the top 12 in finals tonight compete back-to-back and I like having that be the case than to predict a prelims top 6 with all the top groups scattered everywhere! Plus I’m leaving to go see area C finals and won’t see Area B finals play out👀 but I’ll make a top 12 prediction and hope I get them all right, as tough a task as it is😬
  17. What Duncanville did was a crime of *PASSION*🔥🔥✨✨super awesome job from them. I think out of all the New York shows that we’ve seen this fall, I’ve gotta say they probably pull it off the best👀
  18. *cough*cough* Area B right next door🙃
  19. A performance to be proud of, Legacy, great work!! Love the “It Will Rain” ballad, pretty ingenious inclusion with the show them and all haha! Very pretty ballad, and awesome trombone solo as well!
  20. For me when I last saw HP at BOA my main issue with them I felt they had to work out were timing issues, there were quite a few in their show and today for the most part besides a few scant moments, they cleaned those up a lot, especially in the woodwind choir parts in their closer. My main concern with them today was tuning, especially with their soloists, although that’s not unique to them with the weather we’re having today. Something that needs adjusting between now and hopefully a finals performance from them! They had a great performance otherwise
  21. There’s some SGP comments if you look closer👀
  22. Lake ridge is a group with obvious strengths, killer brass, specifically their low brass, and excellent woodwinds. They’ll be in finals, you also feel like they’re a state contender with the right time slot, as with many groups here today, that’s what it could come down to👀
  23. One of the softer bands we’ve heard today for sure, but they all make the effort to have a characteristic sound on their horn, and it’s all you can ask for. Plus the theatrics and zaniness that often comes with a burton show haha
