Too much hype behind Flomo for them not to win. They are great and will do great things this year.

Sorry I was just excited for them making finals. Great show this year though.

Ok Flomo and Hebron 1 and 2. After that I have no idea who will take 3rd. Bell, Keller, Coppell, Timber Creek, Marcus??? I think it may be Marcus but again I am no judge.

Coming from a guy who could not judge the winner of a one band contest, my only disagreement with the judges was music. Flower Mound's show was incredible but there is something about Hebron's music that gets me every time. Congrats again to every band and good luck to the finalists!!!!

Top to bottom this is an outstanding event year in and year out. Great to see Tmber Creek make finals!! So many great bands. Aledo kicks butt every year. Bell taking 3rd. Keller and Lewisville ISD's bringing it on. Just WOW!!! Congrats to all bands today!!! Finals are going to be great and perfect weather. Go Team Texas!!!!!

Does anyone have any reviews of any of these shows? I could not get to any area football games due to my travel schedule this month. Just curious and could not find many videos on line. Should be a great contest as usual. Looking forward to going.

Marcus is Marcus and they are going to Grand Nat's this year so I am sure they will bring it with a great show. Not sure how far along they will be but am looking forward to it. Hebron is Hebron and I am sure they will bring it as well. With them I think they are much better on non UIL years. 2013 was one of their greatest shows and by the end of the season 2015 was pretty darn good as well. As for Keller I think they are on the verge of becoming a "powerhouse" band. I think it may be a year or two from now but I do enjoy their shows. Looking forward to an exciting season!!

What can I say? I'm a risk taker.. Has anyone confirmed tha flomo and Marcus are going to grand nats? I know Marcus was up but Flomo said they were going. Surprised LISD is OK spending the money for both bands to go. Not complaining as it is great to have both compete but it is expensive for a school district.

I'm going to go out on a limb here too and predict an LISD school will medal at this event. Call me crazy but that trio is pretty good. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but..........

I would agree UILwise with Hebron first. I missed Marcus due to parking were they off tonight??

It's crazy only 5 bands move on. So many great bands so few spots.

They are different. Marcus won both in 2012. The second place band that year at state came in 6th or 7th at BOA. In 2014 neither of the top two at state medaled at BOA but were the clear top two at state. I think they were 5th and 6th at BOA. I agree one is not better than the other but they are very different.

The Allen band program is awesome! If you want to march halftime in your football uniform you can. If you have a broken leg and can't walk they will find a spot for you. If you are in a wheelchair they will find someone to push you and make a spot. If you have an interest or love of music you are welcomed. I remember seeing them at a UIL competition a couple of years ago and learned they had a "competition" band. Still big but not halftime big. They had uniforms that were half black and half white. They did some pretty cool stuff on the field. I don't think they made finals but it was an awesome show! Predictions are just guesses. I am not as familiar with the new area c as I was with the old area b but any band can do well on a given day. One of the McKinney schools came in second in Mesquite behind Hebron. Does that mean they will make finals? Who knows. Tomorrow will be great regardless. Best of luck to all bands competing.

I agree the top three order will be interesting. Flomo was far ahead in Plano, not only in the overall show but how clean they were. The Marcus show ended abruptly and seemed short so they have a lot to add. Also there are only a couple of other band that when you just listen to the music you shake your head and ask yourself "how do these high school kids sound so good?" Hebron is one of those other bands. They sounded great but didn't sound as confident as they usually do. We shall see. I have no idea, as usual, what is going to happen. Regardless, it is going to be awesome to see.

How do those kids do it? My kid was exhausted during band season with a measly 8 hours. Wow!!!

After Masons GN performance it doesn't surprise me that they won by 6. I think the difference is they beat Plymouth by 4 points last year as well and weren't competing against 3 GN medalists and two other finalist. Flomo was impressive. I think the guy is just saying that's a big jump from one year to another in the DFW area. For any band. Good for them, great show.

Flomo had the most complete show there by far. I was there and saw 3/4 of prelims and all of finals. Flomo should have won and by a large margin. I think he/she is asking how a band gets that much better over, for the most part, the same pool of bands in one year. Did the other bands all get worse? I remember thinking in Plano after prelims, in 7 years of attending the event it has never been so unclose before. Usually it is a battle of 2 or 3 bands at least. My hat is off to them for such drastic improvement over some very impressive bands. I hope they win it all this year. Must be something in the water.

5th Cedar park 92.9 6th Hebron 92.85 (the curse continues) LOL. I didn't get it at first. Hebron does own that number since 2013 I think?.......it's almost like the judges are in on it now...again in Plano.

Yeah no other band in Texas strives for excellence. Sloppy and mediocre must be the goal for every other band but yours.

What impresses me about Flower Mound is their time management skills. Since all Texas bands are beholden to the 8 hour rule it is pretty dang impressive that Flower Mound had their entire show wrapped up in a bow by October 1. Perhaps UIL should observe Flower Mounds practices and use it as a model for the 8 hour rule in Texas. I think those observations would be very beneficial and eye opening for other band programs.
