  1. Hendrickson has a perfect spot to perform!
  2. Ladies, be sure to read the Alamodome's policy on purses and bags. Purses not only have to meet the outside dimension requirements but the thickness requirement as well. Anything larger and thicker has to be clear or see-through. I saw a lot of people waking back to their cars this morning.
  3. Seven Lakes has an ideal performance slot tomorrow. Could be a real opportunity!
  4. This is truly a year of change in so many ways with major jumps and drops in predictions. For instance, we have a 2017 Grand National finalist that is no longer ranked in the top 40 bands on Hornrank. The rankings are speculation at this point, so they may not really mean anything at all, but I find it amazing that even the perceptions of change are so radical. I wonder what we will all be thinking/feeling next Wednesday?
  5. Then she'd be sorey aboot it!
  6. Stop apologizing! You made a joke and some people can't handle jokes. That is an issue on THEIR end not yours. They made something out of your comment that wasn't intended and you have done nothing wrong. Just let them deal with it. The only safe thing to do these days is not comment here at all. Everything everyone says here seems to upset someone. It's the main reason I don't post often anymore. It's just not worth it.
  7. I'm sorry, I missed the part where she said that Westlake didn't deserve to go. She made a joke. You know what a joke is, right? Lighten up!
  8. I know that the Alamodome will not allow you to bring in anything with a rigid stick. If you have a poster with a holding stick or for bracing, they will make you remove them at the entrance. As far as noise makers - Cow bells, ratchets, air horns, or anything else - I don't know what is allowed, but many judges hate them. If you want to risk your band's chances by doing that, it's your choice. When someone in my kid's band was using a cow bell, the judge highly criticized us for allowing our parent to do it. These guys are sitting there all day viewing band after band and to risk irritating them is just not worth it. Excessive yelling and screaming out messages to your child is not a good thing as well. Tell them you love them in person. They are on the field concentrating on doing their best and don't need the distraction, either.
  9. The first step is admitting you have a problem!
  10. As far as liking it, I like it just fine. Seeing it the second time, I am getting a little used to the things that bothered me the first time through. But as far as scoring potential, it's a fairly strong show. Much to clean up, obviously, but can do well at the GN's. Don't know if it will get to the top or not. Going to be fun finding out! On another note, I like O'Fallon's chances on making the finals at the GN's this year.
  11. Can't wait to see the sheets on this one...
  12. Not surprising to me. Weakest I have heard them in a while.
  13. I was going from memory and forgot about 2008. Thanks!
  14. Wow, Broken Arrow! One more face of this crazy, beautiful program. A patriotic program taken to BA heights. Just amazing!
  15. I think he was just having difficulty saying Louisiana! They were actually Grand National Finalists in 2011.
  16. Really liked Bentonville. Good things happening in that program. Both their guards did well at the WGI Championships last April.
  17. I watched everyone and they just didn't make the cut. They did well, but they were not at the level of the ones that did.
  18. Here's the schedule: 6a_area_final_schedule_2018.pdf
  19. I was speaking more of which programs would likely score higher, not liking or enjoying.
  20. I saw all three of them Saturday at Region UIL and Round Rock had the overall better performance of the group. Going forward, who knows.
  21. But kind of counteracted by the savings...
  22. I don't think he meant any disrespect, he was merely commenting on the quality of the show itself, not of the directors, of the students, or of anyone else involved in this program. A bad show can severely limit any good band's ability to compete. I think that was his main point. We are likely advocates of your program way more than you know.
  23. Of course not. Anything can happen. Also, there are realities that will play out and likelihoods that are already in play. And this is a trend that started years ago. Do the research and you will see it. Not saying I want this, but I can see it and I have seen it coming for a long time. I actually really want to see this change for them very much.
