  2. When you type these responses out and being blatantly rude and disrespectful to people on these forums trying to help, understand that you represent the Cedar Park band with your presence online, and especially in these band forums, and you should not post anything you wouldn't want the directors or the district to see, since you hurt the perspective people have with yalls program with responses like this.

  6. It's interesting the last 3 years that TWHS always seems to be one of those "people rank them lower" than they end up bands. I get that Leander and Lewisville ISDs are powerhouses, but why doesn't TWHS get the same powerhouse type treatment as the others? I haven't seen anything in the last 3 years to say they aren't a lock for finals at any comp they go to and aren't almost a lock for top 6 for them also. Maybe I am wrong in how people see TWHS, but it's just felt they get a little less appreciation/respect than the non-Houston bands. No affiliation with TWHS other than I really appreciate their excellence and cheer for them as a "Houston" area band. Oh and not even directed at anything you said Packwick, just a general observation.

  7. Compared to this comp GN is a joke. We could easily have 5 or 6 bands that don't make finals here who would make GN finals.

  8. Not a prediction per se, however my contacts in the industry have been telling me that Tomball is a bit behind. Apart from that I can only go from my personal opinions, so I think Bridgeland, Clear Lake, Clear Brook, and Reagan will be locks for the top spots. Tbh I also think Brazoswood is gonna be a candidate for the top this year I have seen some videos of their show and it really looks promising. Honestly I am pretty excited as I will attending for my photography gigs so I am really pumped up for this contest in particular and will be sure to provide my opinions after. - Best Wishes BigDaddySousaphone

  12. Not sure if I would classify it as a "Rough" start, it was a very competitive competition with lots of great bands and I think they both did well for this early in the season, even with new directors. Vista typically ranks around this level at BOA RR and not much different from where they have been historically for this time in the season from 2018 forward. VR BOA RR History 2015: 9th 72.35 2016: 6th 73.15 2017: 10th 73.65 2018: 4th 82.05 2019: 4th 83.35 2021: 5th 80.63 2022: 4th 81.15 2023: 3rd 83.5 2024: 5th 80.25

  18. “The Thing” is something being created by the mad scientists at “Brook Labs”, but we have yet to know if it’s good or evil. Given that this is a rated G program, it can’t be too bad? …or can it? You will see some props this week, but their full kinetic power might not be unleashed until later performances. The largest prop is also still under construction. It will be fun to compare the early season performances next weekend to what bands are performing in November.

Anyone know the size of NISD? With Sotomayor, I think it's 12 6A schools. Is that 3 or 4 advancing bands (assuming everyone advances)? My predictions: 1. Vandegrift 2. Vista Ridge 3. Westlake 4. Lake Travis 5. Brandeis 6. Del Rio 7. Brennan 8. Steele 9. Taft 10. Harlan Im pretty confident about 1-4. If Brandeis happens to have a spectacular show, and Lake Travis has a bad run, there could be a big shake up. Honestly though, Brandeis is the only band I could see breaking into the 4. 6-10 could be anyone. I do think Del Rio has been proving themselves more and more each year, so I'd consider them a lock for finals. If they have an awesome run, they might even grab the alternate spot.

  25. Top 5 for Melissa! Lonestar McKinney/Rock Hill McKinney/Rock Hill Lebanon Trail Argyle Lonestar is a very consistent program. It will be interesting to see if McKinney continues their upward trajectory that they started last season with their staff changes. Definitely a dark horse of a program to watch out for. Rock Hill has dealt with Prosper ISD's rezoning, so we will start to see what type of impact, if any, that has had on their program.

  26. Yeah, it's been so much hotter at Rouse high school than it has been at Leander, Cedar Park, Vista Ridge or Vandegrift. 😕
