Saw some videos of bands in this area and man this Area is going to be crazy this year. I remember back in 2016-2018 when this area was not this active but now the amount of potential that has risen has skyrocketed it! The Main 2 I want to talk about is Bridgeland and Woods Bridgeland with their show - Cerulean - is very wonderful! The music they are playing fits the vibes for the show well, and they already got a lot on. Can not wait to see them this year. Woods and their show this year being - (It was hard to hear the name of the show in the video recording. Duo something) - Is very, VERY different from any show they have done. They are pushing their talent further and further year after year. I remember them back in the 2010s and I never expected them to reach this far. Can not wait. Other than that, I am going to go make a post on my OG Area, can not wait to see what this Area in store this year!

Your thoughts and ranking predictions are pretty questionable.

Lone star has been improving VERY fast, and I think this is their breakthrough year where they take the number one. With all the director changes, these are my predictions. Lone star (with how much they have been improving this has to be the year they de-throne wakeland) Wakeland (You cant deny they are still a powerhouse) North (I don't even think they are that good, but they keep on winning) Reedy (I think memorials new director will bring them to state) Argyle (they did pretty well last year, but all good things come to an end) Walnut Grove (one of my friends said they are going to be good this year) Emerson (they had pretty cool plumes last year, so I could see them pulling off another insane thing this year) Lebanon (don't really know what their show is) Centennial (I forgot what bands were left in this area) Liberty (I remembered this band and thought they were perfect for 10th place)

Maybe Royse City could do well, that whole area is growing pretty quickly in the Fate and RC area. Could take that as an advantage to sneak into finals. If not, maybe Mesquite or Tyler Legacy, kind of hard to tell at the moment.

My things is with Berkner, if they do move down to 5A and go to Area C I could see that making Berkner a contender to win Area C 5A, with it being a battle between them, NM, and maybe Poteet. Along with that, since Berkner was a 6A Area C finalist last year that would leave a gap for another band to sneak into 6A finals.

I think that if the Frisco scenario happens with Reedy jumping up and Memorial moving down, I wouldn't be shocked if they wanted to add nearby school in 3 4 or 5A to slightly balance Region 24 depending on what the new Prosper Richland ends up being (probably 4 or 5A), maybe from 25 or 2 if they get more in 6A or 5A with jumps. Maybe Aubrey or Celina or Pilot Point? Just sort of some food for thought but who knows what'll happen

I think that if Berkner were to drop, they could be a pretty solid contender for the SMBC in 5A with the right execution. It could be interesting to watch that. And Memorial could also be a state level program in the 4A level of SMBC with the results they have rn at 5A B. Reedy jumping up could be interesting too, it'll make you wonder how they'll do in J (BOA prosper this year could be a sneak peek of that with a lot of J going to that contest). Also if reedy and Sherman make state happens, it could be interesting to see how it shakes up athletic districts; itll probably be a whole shuffle and it makes me wonder if itll affect also the UIL Areas and Regions for 6A

I believe Lone Star will also be here at this contest.... They haven't posted their contests yet.

We didn't have finals last year

I have a feeling this is the year where someone from that bottom seven in finals last year will go to state

Some thoughts if this happens: It’ll definitely be interesting to see how Rockhill and Berkner would do in 5A. If North moves to 6A, then it’s gonna open a potential state spot for either new people or RH. Berkner would also do fairly well, would imagine they’d be in 5A area C and would probably easily be making state. Area B though will be getting heavier with Celina and Panther Creek. I’d also be interesting to see if Frisco finally has a 6A school of Reedy jumps up. I think memorial would also do great in 4A if they drop. I’m hoping Leander stays 5A bc then it’ll be back to LT or Westlake not making state. Aledo in 6A would be….interesting. I’m guessing they’d be in area B, would probably miss state for a little bit cold def make it after a little. Though they were around the level of SLC at Bedford, so maybe they’d be at state very soon. Will be exciting to see if these major changes happen

Here are some quick predictions of mine for now, I will change them either once I get more in depth or when we get next year's enrollment numbers. Drops 6A to 5A: Longview, Dallas Jesuit, Rowlett, Berkner, Rock Hill, Westview, Lancaster 5A to 4A: Frisco Memorial, Denison, Dallas Adamson, Kaufman, CC King, CC Moody, H Austin, H Sterling Jumps 4A to 5A: Sulphur Springs, Celina, Panther Creek, Community, Lake Dallas, Decatur, Davenport, West Plains 5A to 6A: McKinney North, Leander, Aledo, Sherman, Reedy, Lake Belton, Denton Ryan I probably won't do 3A down until a later time since I'm not as familiar with it as 4A-6A. I think we'll have 7A in 2030 or 2028 but not 2026 for now.

4A is going to see a lot of heavy hitters moving up I think. Celina, Panther Creek, Davenport, Sulphur Springs, and West Plains were all either VERY close in 2024 or have been growing pretty rapidly.

In the 4a aspect Celina and panther creek are almost a locked move to 5a along with potentially sulphur springs moving up. i dont think UIL will add a 7a yet. I think they will wait for another round of realignment and then they will do one

I think the biggest question is whether we’re getting a 7A during the 2026–27 realignment. It has been in the talks since the 2019. Some of the 6A areas such as area I, might no longer exist because many of those school have an enrollment of 3,000+.

Realignment is coming up in a couple months, what do you guys think will be the big changes for jumps/drops and also any region/area alignments?

What are we thinking about this upcoming season?

i can see a state run from azle in a few years but i mainly hope they make it this year they definitely deserve it. And with birdville i feel that they can compete for a state spot like they usally do every year. i hope to see great things from birdville this year.

I am curious about Birdville considering their placement last year. my hope here is that Azle gets to state. Like they’re also so good at local/boa comps and always make finals here. Currently thinking it’s gonna be the same 10 finalist as last year
