Thought I’d make a quick prediction because I’m bored so here’s my prediction as of 06/08 1. Hebron 2. Wakeland 3. Prosper 4. Coppell 5. Timber Creek 6. SLC 7. Keller 8. Wax 9. Sachse 10. KC 11. Berkner 12. Azle For me the most switchable one I have is SLC and TC. They could definitely switch around a lot. -

Lone Star could beat Wakeland with these new captions, they had beaten Wakeland in woodwinds and brass and visual ensemble, losing only in percussion and visual individual, along with the broader music ensemble and content captions, I think Wakeland is still more likely to win since its earlier, but could still change Otherwise not sure, McKinney North is going to be really strong next year with their director changes, to be honest, I think TMEA wont see much massive improvements but for marching they have a significantly more talented staff for DCI in particular, and hopefully it shows on these sheets this fall, Argyle probably is more in the 2nd/3rd range rather than 3rd/4th
-
So with the new judging rules how will this effect all the schools? Will it bump some programs up or down?
-
It’s one of those things where all of these bands are deserving of going to state but they have a low chance because of the 3 kings at the top

I want to see Braswell at state. They seem like they have a good shot despite the shaky history
-
I'm personally really hoping I get to see Brownsville Pace at state this year. They have a really cool show concept with some really good selections, and I think they can pull it off. What do you think?

This should be a fun year, I want to hear the thoughts on what bands will take it at Area this year.
-
Yup, most bands especially bands that plan on competing in events usually have their contests selected before summer starts. Yes, sometimes there are issues during the summer and during the school year where bands have to drop scheduled contests and contests go out and try to find bands to fill spots.

Most good programs from what I gather have an idea in Jan/Feb what they want to do just have to do all the other things to start putting it together.

Honestly, at this point Dallas at least 5 and 6A will probably need a revamping of their areas and regions especially considering the heavy growth in Denton and Collin counties -
A lot of schools typically tend to post their contests around this time in may and june on their calendars. Usually you can find these calendars on their band's website if they have one. Usually what I do is I go through the bands by area to check so I dont lose track, but I'm sure there's other ways to do it as well. All of the bands you see that I have listed have their contests posted on their calendar.

Waxahachie ISD a few months back announced a second high school — Waxahachie Creek — to be opening in 2027. Could also make things interesting on how they will split the student body. -

I think that new Northwest School is opening probably 2027 or 2028 from what I know. I believe both Denton is opening a school in Cross Roads and Royse City is opening on in Fate around that time. Asides from that I know that Prosper's Richland HS is opening this year. I believe they also have a 5th school planned but it probably won't affect realignment until 2030 I'm assuming. -

Do we know of any new schools opening? I bet there will be some new 4a and 5a schools that could throw some interesting twists in the mix. What about that school in Northwest ISD?
