For what the original contest has in a stacked lineup, this is a similarly stacked lineup of small school programs.

Very strong small school lineup! I don't think the Valley View listed for this contest is the same 4A Valley View in South Texas. I believe it's the 3A Valley View from up in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

 Hmmm no Mineola? I figured they would have jumped all over this after being the only 3A school to ever make a Finals at Melissa. I hope it's not the same weekend Mineola is trying to have their Marching Contest because a good majority of people that went to it last year are now going to Melissa.

Kudos to Melissa for doing this. I wonder if they knew that it would sell out so fast. There was obviously a lot of pent up demand for something like this.

it looks like there are around 10 state marching contest participants. 4A is going to be really interesting. With state medalists Celina and Panther Creek moving up, there is a real chance there are at least 2-4 bands in this group that are poised to get a top 3 finish at state. It will also be a great opportunity to see how Kaufman is going fit in the 4A picture.

Ngl, I think that if Kaufman is as strong as they were these last two years, I could see them 1st or top 3 here.
