I always love this one because TC and Mansfield always battle it out but I could also see some shakeups happening, a lot of these middle groups here are really moving up, will be another great year for this comp

Here's my early predictions for this show this year. I'll make another one later in the season but this is what I have for right now

1. Mansfield (brass) (vis) (music)
2. Little Elm (percussion) (aux)
3. The Colony (ww)
4. North Mesquite

5. James Martin
6. Birdville
7. Lakeview

8. Frisco Centennial
9. Highland Park
10. Fossil Ridge

I have them in bubbles where they could all be interchanged with one another. I think that the top 4 will be a big battle especially with some underdogs in the top 5 last year (LE,NM) so I think it could be a fun contest to show up to for those interested in going to a contest that weekend. Excited to see how this contest ends up. I'm especially interested to see how North Mesquite does in this contest, I loved their show last year

I believe that Fossil ridge can score higher in my opinion, probably 7th or 6th still early prediction

A lot of schools typically tend to post their contests around this time in may and june on their calendars. Usually you can find these calendars on their band's website if they have one. Usually what I do is I go through the bands by area to check so I dont lose track, but I'm sure there's other ways to do it as well. All of the bands you see that I have listed have their contests posted on their calendar.

Yup, most bands especially bands that plan on competing in events usually have their contests selected before summer starts. Yes, sometimes there are issues during the summer and during the school year where bands have to drop scheduled contests and contests go out and try to find bands to fill spots.

Does DH contest use UIL or BOA scoring? This will be first time Richland attends this contest. Birdville has attended before and excited to see our BISD schools compete against each other early since we also compete for 5A Area F.

A bit of both almost I think. Very similar to a lot of local contests with the 100 point score, and I believe their judges base it on Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Aux, Visual, and Music i believe. The scores are on Last Year's forum of DHM if you need a bit of a reference, but nobody ever posted the detailed recaps. Scores are on that forum though

Thanks for the info, I think Richland will score very well and the in the top 5 and winning some captions. Hope weather wont be an issue.

Hoping it won't (unlike the great Area incident of 2024 lol). Richland will be a great addition to this contest and I'm excited to see how they do in a contest that always has some fun and unexpected results.

This contest is gonna be a must watch this year. The top 5 is gonna be all really close this year, especially with Richland joining.

Fossil Ridge no longer has the contest on their calendar, rather now with USBands Crowley in place of it. Could change up some predictions.

Highland Park has a new band director, who knows how to compete. Hopefully that means that HP will finish better than the bottom. I hope so...they've had a few challenging years recently. That said, should be a very fun and competitive contest - great bands here!

Wow, very interesting to see what changes that new director could make to HP, I wonder what could happen in this competition, this could definitely spice up the competition and also spice up area c as well
