I don't think the pressure comes from the directors, but it's part of the "team" dynamic.  No one wants to be the person that lets everyone else down.  It's a great learning experience and teaches these kids a ton that they can apply to their adult life.

I think that's a good way to put it, and agree on the learning experiences and life lessons.

Does anyone have a copy of the Region 32 contest schedule? Only 10 days away, seems like it should be out there somewhere.

I can agree on that but also the contrast of prelims to finals is very important  LT is definately a second rep performance and there finals always perform better but brandies has be getting closer. I'd love to see a 5th spot soon I feel like so much good talent is wasted in the early rounds

as someone that also goes to LT I wouldn't say we were scared but almost motivated. with the increase in brandies scoring it makes it a challenge to overcome and brings a lot of motivation to the field. I would love to see a day where we can both make it I have so much love and respect for the band.

Was able to get the Region 32 5A and 6A contest Schedule from the Region 32 President.

The 5A/6A Region 32 Contest has some great bands.   Six of the Bands are in HornRank's top 24 in the Nation, not just Texas!   Talk about a stacked Region!

Even though they're not "highly" ranked, Glen and Liberty Hill both have great shows, going to be an amazing contest.

I liked LT's show when I saw it a few weeks ago, as well.

A week ago we were talking about what a great bargain the LISD Festival of Bands is at $9 for 6 bands.  

$8 for these 9 bands is something pretty special.

With Lake Travis failing to make the finals of TMC what band is band #4 to make state. Vandy, Vista and Westlake are a very comfortable top 1, 2 and 3

Last year every band got straight 1's, hoping to see that again this year.

All Region 32 6A bands from Area H received a division 1 rating tonight which means Vandegrift, Vista, Westlake, and Lake Travis will all advance to the Area H contest.

All I can think of when I see trombone suicide is “that’s a lot of money if any of them f up” 🫣

but yes, it’s fun to see them cut loose

Bad shows do happen and they were only 1st out. That being said, they really should've been in finals if they're still at the same level as the last few years.

If it's not LT, and if Brandeis is truly struggling this year, it'll be whoever has the better show area finals night between (in a very light order recognizing these bands are all kinda at the same level):

1. Taft

2. O'Connor

3. Steele

4. Stevens

5. Sotomayor

6. Clark

7. Judson

I'm still convinced LT will take it honestly.

Vandegrift, Vista, Westlake, Lake Travis got the top 4 scores which means all of them will advance to state.

Since when did the location of this contest shift to Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park instead of Rutledge (I think that's the name?) Stadium in San Antonio?

it’s not always at Rutledge. I believe 2022(?) was also at Gupton.

Agree.  Gupton is super-easy because it's my "home" stadium, but I do like Rutledge both for quality of sound/sight, and ease of access.  As a 5A band we'll be headed to Rutledge this year and we had a really great time there 2 years ago.

Best of luck to all the Area H 6A bands, it's a great lineup of bands!
