Definitely agree with this lol. I was on the SS hype last year just cause I loved their show. Really wish they medaled.

Glad to find a kindred spirit. I think PC is impeccably clean and precise. The kids and directors are very talented and I am in no way undermining their accomplishments, BUT if you’re going to call Celina boring and not Panther creek…man. I don’t know what to say to you. Haha.

I know Area D has been out of the game, but Fredericksburg seems to be catching up. Just saw their region video, and I would not count them out of state finals, especially if they get a good spot in state prelims. Guard seemed to have been a big issue last year, but im overly impressed with the improvement and cleanliness. Are we seeing a comeback for Area D? 👀

Not just with Fredericksburg, but I'm also thinking Legacy Ranch is going to be a Finals contender. I always forget how truly bloody the State contest gets lol

I would love to see some new finalists, the problem is: I don’t know who to remove from the lineup!

people just hate the top yk 🤷‍♂️

but also i love panther creek just because they've come so far for being a new school, its genuinely impressive to me. i feel the same way about legacy ranch because their school was opened in fall of 2024 which means currently they only consist of freshman and sophomores. its really cool to me when i see new schools who do so well

Yeah we have two really good relatively new bands Panther Creek and Davenport who have both been dominating, and it's really cool to see! I also think that the Long Creek could make state this year they did well at San Antonio US Bands Competition, going head to head with Fredericksburg who were so close to making state finals.

Personally, I have Legacy Ranch making it out of Area D, but would be cool to see Long Creek/Freeman make it as well. Hope Fredericksburg can make finals this year!

Same to Freeman, getting 4th in their second year!

On that note, there will for sure be a new State Finalist this year. Gatesville, who got 8th at State last year, did not advance to State this year. They were one point away.

You’re missing La Grange from Area D. They placed 5th. And also advanced to state again!

 I think this is a mistake because there were 28 bands, which means five should advance. I think the area results list is wrong.

Yes there was an error in the release. They had 10 finalists and 5 advance to state. Since finals was cancelled due to the weather, top 5 from prelims advanced.

Yeah but remember that the judges weren’t judging all music. Judge 1 was WW, 2 was brass, and 3 was percussion. They just aren’t labeled that way on the results sheet (and I think they should be).

The suspense is killing me for C. I think this is the most contested area. I’m glad for the kids though. The area coordinator made the right call. Looks like their finals would have been rained out.

I think if Fredericksburg slots a time outside of the first block for state prelims, we will see a return to Fredericksburg in state finals comp.  Will post a clip I found in a few minutes!

First and third bands in state prelims last year made finals.  You can do it from anywhere!

Their show is VERY similar to canton’s show from last year.

I don’t doubt it absolutely it’s possible, but when it comes to those last few spots for state finals (7-10), it’s not really common to see them come from the morning block. Just a thought of course
