According to Facebook, the Wills Point band made a 1 and will advance. They performed today in mesquite with 3A and 5A. The rest of region 3 will be decided tomorrow. 
 

I have not seen them at all this year. I believe they have a new director.

Saw them in Celina - good soloists and a decent show. I don’t know that it is a state package but could make area finals.

I hope they do! I’ve been a fan of their program for a long time. Not sure how I missed them this year. I usually see them multiple times before area or state.

Same on both counts. They seem to have laid low but WP has had some of my favorite 4a shows over the years. Wish them the best.

So is my math right: If everyone in region 3 gets a 1 tomorrow then eight bands advance to state?

Yes, all of them have to receive a 1 in order for there to be 8 state spots.

Last year everyone but Quinlan and Mabank made 1s. 2022 they all made 1s. So definitely possible.

1.How many schools are currently qualified for area

2.does open class get all of the state spots

3. does military help get us state spots?

I haven’t kept up with who has or has not qualified. I can only answer the last. Yes, if a military band qualifies for area that counts as a state spot. That’s why area c always sends a lot of bands compared to other areas that do not have military bands.

If 7-8 bands go to state then that means only 2-3 bands in finals won’t go right? on the fact they only take 10 to finals

if im correct finals spots is doubled by state spots, because with that huge number of state bands, 2-3 would be A. unfair to the people who didnt make state and B. having tbe judges decide on who to like send to state or not, since there would be 7-8/10, thats just a hard decision if you know what i mean, it wouldnt be worth it for the judges because you're basically sending all of finals to state

I cannot find any videos of Celina’s full show. They only marched half at the first two contests. I also can’t find any of SS since Princeton.
