So, here's the thing with the multi-cam. For some reason every band after a break, both on Monday and Tuesday, were high cam only, even if you were on the multi-cam feed, as I was. So, since Cedar Park was the first band out of the break, there only was a high cam feed, even though I was on the multi-cam feed.
Stephen F. Austin is under new leadership, including Cedar Park's former marching director as its new lead director. That band is a work in progress but they are going to be pretty strong by the end of the year and a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
Lake Travis is the only band that won't be there that was an area finalist in 2011 because Lake Travis is now 5-A. Leander is a new addition because it moved to 4-A. Here is the latest Cedar Park video. Both the opener and balad are on the field for the first game and they're moving fast and playing loud as you would expect.
Here is what I have been wondering. Is Cedar Park the first to have the 4-A Honor Band and the defending UIL State Champion marching band at the same time? I'm sure someone out there knows whether this is a rare event or if it happens all the time.
As promised, here is last night's preview concert. This was put together with only five hours of rehearsal with the new band members. Enjoy, and crank it up.
Cedar Park hasn't announced a name yet, but here is the playlist.
