Because you're old What's the deal with Crockett '93?

"Zero Hour," featuring the music of James Horner, James Newton Howard, and Eric Whitacre. Will our new band directors be any good?

Director Changes

Paschal has hired a new band director: Mr. Darrin Duff, formerly of Azle High School. -
Cavies 2002 (I don't care if Cadets '05 tied it in the scores, Cavies '02 is the only show that's come close to perfection since Star '93).

According to Cesario on the DCI Field Pass two weeks ago, percussion until July 4 is in the box.

Wow. I was expecting her to stay at Bell, seeing as she's an alum of the Blue Raider Band. That is a surprise. Out of curiosity, where'd Nick Thomas go? Meanwhile, Paschal is still head-director-less, but has a new first assistant director: Mr. George Flores, formerly of Harlingen South. -
Texas weather...gotta love it.

LD Bell has replaced Nick Thomas already...so likely as not he's the new head at Birdville... meanwhile, here's the bio on the new Bell director, one Jaime Alvarez-Calderon -
Not really... Is it at all normal to be more scared that the girl you ask out says "yes" than that she says "no?"

How is breaking in an entirely new-to-the-program group of band directors in a state year our (Arabella's and my) senior year going to be positive? I know that sounds really pessimistic...but really, find me some good in that. -
The 40 Days and 40 Nights of Rain last year.

Yes. Both at the same time. Will the girl I'm interested in feel disrespected when I make a move for her because I asked her best friend out (and got quasi-stood up) six months ago?
-
Definitely going to Dallas...might be going to Denton as well.

2008 TMEA Honor Band

Just as a question for anybody here... Correct me if I'm wrong, but it makes sense to submit an excellent recording, even if it's not the absolutely positively best possible, right? And does the answer to that question change if it's the first time the band would have ever submitted? -

Correction to the above...Paschal didn't submit, and apparently the only person who didn't find out was me. (Bleepin' AP tests). -

The results from Region 7 (with conditions): 1C: Ballinger MS Band, Ballinger MS, Ballinger 2C: KJHS Honor Band, Kennedale JHS, Kennedale 3C: 1. Concert Band 1, Aledo MS, Aledo (advancing) 2. Symphonic Band, Wedgwood MS, Fort Worth (advancing) 3. 8th Grade Band, Kerr MS, Burleson 5A: Weatherford HS, Weatherford Paschal HS, Fort Worth* 5A is the conditional one...according to the BD at Paschal, and the TMEA web site (at most recent check), Paschal was entered for Honor Band. However, according to the BD at Burleson (who coordinated the listenings), the only school that submitted was Weatherford. Further details to follow soon, along with a (hopefully) accurate report. -

I'm quasi-unofficially assigning myself the job of field reporter for region 7, since you'll be at Region 24, if you don't mind. -

goes to a school that's built a band program freakishly fast, given that the school's relatively new.
