only problem with the merchendise is taht if your not at a boa evernt or band event..ppl will think your retarded..how about making some shirts and stuff that say TxBands -Because band is just better in texas..i would get one of those

so yeah i love how new things to the site are posted on the main page but why does it have to be under the old tx bands introduction...scrap that..txbands isnt new anymore..its well established...just have the new news that goes under it to take its spot if any of this above doesnt make sense cause of the way i said its because im listening to the podcast

what do yall think of show bands (band that attend battle of the bands) personally i think they are awesome for jazzing crowds up and such.. i dont think their shows are all that intricet(sp?) though..and thier emphasis on music (and being able to play it well) is very weak i think

about that last video the quads or tenors..are only 3 drums from what i can tell on the video and at one point the dm turns to the crowd in a dancing sort of move lots of straight line marching in this show the color guard has a modded version of the bands uniform (including plumes) this one part a color guard girl throw a rifle up..and then runs to go get a flag while another girl catches the rifle the trumpet "ensemble" in the middle was pretty cool when they played with one hand while standing lesurly -marching chimes -trombone solo... -some very akward to me conduction in the closer -dude marching has changed a WHOLE LOT

so i went backed and listen to a couple real old shows..and dude...there freaken awesome westfield 1996 - Into The Unknown - this was also the first year higgy was writing for westfield they won UIL state that year Spring 1993 - audio Spring 1993 - video they won gran nats that year this one is 1979 gran nats winnder..look how much a marching competition and marching itself has changed..-btw this is when dm's were made to mark time while they conduct...this is no RCA dome... marching style is defenitly unique to each band some bands have a seperate marching director (like in our case our head director is very involved with all aspects of the show, but when it comes to teaching the drill, visuals, and marching, it goes to the marching director.) we have a rather large pit section with mics, a couple keyboards, a malat kat, a computer...umm...yeah...miced soloists...a stage... ................................. as for media there is a great selection here and at www.skrampsnewplace.com<<they have video and audio of alot of bands from alot of different years.. there is also a link of it on this sites home page on the left .................................. some marching shows have themes...a couple themes i can remember off the top of my head: twinkle twinlke little star, into the unknown, video game music, take me out to the ball game

NO WAY..i hate outdoor events.... well not really.. but id much prefer an indoor gran nats sometimes it gets pretty hot in those uniforms...(in indy's case) maybe a little to cold electrical equipment doesnt always work outdoors being indoors is a more controlled environment...IT HAS TO STAY INDOORS .......................................... yeah thats pretty cool that they contacted BOA for acoustics and such (how do u know this?..is it posted somewhere on BOA?)

our last game..which was last night.. westfield vs north shore we won..but it was the only game this season where we were losing at one point in a way it sucks..cause we have a play off game this coming saturday after thanksgiving

^very true my whataburger eating friend umm...yeah pyware and finale are 2 big softwares pyware being used to write drill finale being used to write music like dynasty said 8 steps per 5 yards with a 4 step dot gird going across the field corps also go backwards and are most of the time facing forward..unless they are doing some type of visual or a visual drill move where u face your set. plus staging is a big issuge when it comes to corps bands..staging meaning...like ww's in front brass behind..and drumline behind that..(not exactly that) but just so that the band doesnt have a musical tear because of where this "part" is on the field. umm..of course there is more but at this time im watching tv and cant remember anymore..so if i remember some more ill post it

thats not true AT ALL.. just cause a band is good one year..and they do bad the next there not still gauranteed a spot.. look at westfield for example... we won gran nats in 03.. this year we barely made finals for arlington.. dont say it like the competition is rigged..cause its not.. everyband...(in a judging perspective) has a pretty much equal chance at finals or winning for that fact. ...................................................... yeah band boosters and fundraisers along with the students themselfs paying..is was takes them to nats.. heck out trip account was 400+ dollars more than usual when we went to nationals .................................................... the fact that 80% of the competitive bands are in indy doesnt reeally mean much when a majority of the gran nats finalists are from outside of indy.. ..................................................... yeah all the texas regionals have 2 hashes... while up at indy there is 3 sets of hashes ^darn responded to four different things
