Etudes are just soooo boring. You cant make them your own, and you really cant add your own kind of musicality. You just play whats on the page, cause thats what the judges want to hear. Thats why i like Solo and Ensemble much more!

it was not until i opened the thread that i realized what it was actually about.

Yea, I love Daniel Montoya Jr.'s Marching band Arrangements. He has done ours the Past 2 years and is doing ours again this next year. He arranged Saturday Morning Overtures, Somniphobia, and now he is arranging McNeil's again about the different music of American composers. The Composers i know for sure that are included in the show will be Aaron Copland, George Gershwin, & William Schuman. Montoya did an AMAZING job arranging it!!!! I have no idea what the official title of it is. We are also in new Uniforms this year! yay!!!

All state music is my least favorite part about band!!! grrrr

i am so glad that Crown pulled into 3rd, and with the Cavis and BD's so close...anything can happen!

i would love to see Crown move up to 4th or even 3rd.

I just know Daniel Montoya Jr. did an amazing job writing McNeil's show this year. In my opinion its the best one we have ever had!

dont forget McNeil in those listings for Area D! I am pretty sure we submitted tapes.

I know every year we go on a spring band trip. My freshman year we went to New York City, and one day we played with the Westpoint band. My Sophomore year we went to a resort in San Antonio and attended some competition. Next year we are going to New Orleans, and its gonna be a charity trip. We are going to raise money for some band there and bring them hopefully some new instruments or something. Maybe even play a joint concert or something. Where do yall go?

We have like 6 DM candidates, and 2 of them are not respected by the band, 1 of them is power hungry, 1 of them skips classes and almost fails...that leaves 2...idk who our third one is going to be, that is a scary though.

o we played the Firebird for Full Orchestra UIL this year. It's a really kool piece. I have no idea what McNeil's is going to be...i know Round Rock has announced theirs, but idk if their directors would appreciated it being posted so i wont.
