We'll be using: Chimes (beginning of mvmt. 1) Flags (mid to end of mvmt 1) Swing Flags (mvmt 2) Rifles (mvmt 3) Sabers (start of mvmt 4) (flags again) (middle of mvmt 4) Hand Bells (end of mvmt 4) and in the first part of our opener our guard has a lyrical dance where their uniforms are supposed to make them look like little bells when the twirl. Also, the Chimes and Hand Bells part hasn't been added yet, and I think that's something that might be saved for Area and State only.

see, I didn't get there until L.D. Bells rehearsal, so I missed prelims, but idk... I guess it's just the fact that they're our competition at Area that made me judge them so harshly. But, Playing music from Grainger is VERY risky in my opinion when it comes to a state year.

we may hafta do something like that. If we playing all our pieces at EXACT tempo, we come up with about 7 and 1/2 minutes of music. If you add in transition times between pieces, plus tempo fluctuations, we come right up (possibly over) to the 8 minute mark.

this week is mvmt. 4 for us. Hopefully we can get it all up to tempo by Saturday. It's going to be SO hard to march 172-180 in the closer and learn how to keep it consistent for such a long time.

wow, I was expecting Birdville to place 3rd after finals performance. I thought Grapevine really did an excellent job and was kinda shocked at Birdville. Although, their guy in the guard did some INSANE flips! oh! and I loved Bell. I really wish that they had Mvmt. 5 learned, but to see them execute a SPIRIT Show as well as they did just astounded me. Not only was it entertaining, but it was performed just as well as their actual marching show. it made me happy inside.

I think we may be able to send 5 bands from Area B now. we played Lake Dallas this past week, and they usually get 2's at UIL, but this year they are MUCH better. I'm expecting them to get a 1 and I also feel that Little Elm may have stepped up their game this year as well. So that hopefully adds two more bands to the list on Area B.

that's awful to teach your kids how to steal at such a young age. I think that that is worse than actually committing the crime.

something like that happened to us on Friday. Our 3rd mvmt. goes 152, but the week before we had taken it at like... 144, so some kids in the band were marching/playing at 152 while others were at 144.

I hope they are performing the whole show! I'll be there for finals, but not for prelims.

the predictions for this one are up. I'm gonna hafta put Marcus, Hebron and then Rowlett as the top three, in that order.

well that's encouraging. we've started mvmt. 4!

We've started mvmt. 4, and have about everything up to our tempo change learned (which is just under half way). We're going to try to finish this upcoming week!!!

CHS is now 0-4 after lossing to Lake Dallas 19-38??? I guess...

well, we play Lake Dallas tomorrow... we've never beaten them before, so unless some miracle happens, I believe we will be 0-4 tomorrow night.

I don't think it was intended as a bad thing. We were in a really big rush that half time, and our directors had us standing so that it was hard to look at the play back screens because we weren't really focused enough on our performance.

I remember it. and yah, it was about airplanes and flight. Their drill seemed to keep them like... infront of the front hash mark the entire time.

yah... I'm rethinking my predictions... I feel they are WAY off... except for some of the bottom few spots... I realized that I gave ALL the caption awards to bands who weren't even in the top 3 spots...

we just started learning the 4th mvmt. so we should be marching all of it by next week.

oh, I needa see how birdville is doing this year.
