  1. Yeah, some of these boa line ups this year are crazy. A lot of bands are doing BOA houstan and BOA shenandoah
  2. This could be because it's built mostly for the band. All of the services TxBands offers are mostly targeted at marching band. I think adding more things to do and pushing the place for color guard would work to change that. I know lots of crazy drumline and guard people who would love it if you added more systems and places for them.
  3. I agree. Area I has a big issue with having the Bridgeland, Cy-Fair, and Cy Woods marching bands, Whille also having bands like Jordan, 7L and tayolor
  4. Jordan: Running and gunning. Their band director is a BD brass guy who also led the 2018 SVC Melo line.
  5. Yeah it really does. They need to make the standards for bands making it to the area comps into the state spots lower. A lot of areas have 5-6 state level bands and 1-2 might not get them.
  6. oh god... This might be intresiting and a must go too event
  7. Some are, Just must don't tend to care about it. When my school hosts a finals watch party its like 75% brass.
  8. Yeah, to be honest, any of the bubble bands (Langham, Mortan, Paetow, Jersey, Cy Ranch, and maybe Katy now) could go any way. I do so hope we see a mix up this year, maybe it's Jordan or Cinco getting a state spot. I would love to see some new faces in the mix.

  10. Yeah... The WWs don't tend to watch DCI b/c its all brass. Adding WW elements will make it more friendly to all fans.
  11. They have had good years and bad years. Jordan has been swinging and getting close every year and the same with Cinco. Hard to say but they have been 4/5th most years all it takes is one judge. The only reason I say Bridgeland and cy fair and cy woods are locks is b/c they have been consistently top 3.
  12. party and be happy here!
  13. I know it would be a lot of work and cost some money to make but I think it would be really cool!
  14. Another year brings another competition for the Katy Cup. Will Jordan come back and keep it after breaking 7L's 7-year streak? Will Seven Lakes be out to bring it back? Will Tomkins or Taylor make their way in and steal it? Will any others break into the mists? We will see! I will update info such as date and participation as soon it is released!
  15. On a completely unrelated note: this might be the most active forum on all of TX bands.
  16. I agree with the exception of JET. I do not hate or anything, But they in Katy marching keep falling behind both Jordan, 7L, and sometimes Tomkins. They have done the same for the past 2 years in the area. BridgeLands, Cy Woods, and CyFair are a lock 7L we will see Jordan beat them at the Katy cup last year. Depending on how seasons and shows play out we could see the return of Cinco or another smaller band like Langham Creek into the mix. Area I is one of the most competitive areas every year for this reason.
  17. Man, i was just joking around... I was not betting on who would win but rather the werids things that might happen
  18. honestly not a half "band" idea. We could run it such that any money made goes to the bands.
  19. It would be safe to say that mostly the same groups as last year. Last year I think we only saw Freeman added because they were new.
  20. Knowing the area I...I would say there is a fair chance for all of these to happen. Not only a chance for anyone but for all of these too happen at the same time.
