I totally agree, The NFHS mic's breaking during the 6a state runs was awesome!
 
(Even the top 5a schools are loud, almost as loud if not, slightly louder than some DCI's. I'm talking about Rouse, CP, and Leander lol)

Personally, I would honestly love to see FLOMO when state. That'd be cool to see, I mean they did win BOASA so it could happen. Although, Vandergrift and Hebron are always up there!

Ha!  Well, competing in the SMBC at all, is still something quite special.
When I was in marching band at an AISD 5A school many many years ago, I don't recall us ever even proceeding to Area.  We did win the Westlake invitational one year, which shocked the heck out of everyone, including us!

This is so true and yet so sad. I do miss when shows were not as similar to how DCI does theirs. I do know however there are some bands that don't do what DCI does, and generally do really good at BOA, and their shows are BOA oriented. Rouse stuck out to me in this way, Their show this year didn't have the DCI feeling as much and was very musical, something I think they are very good at.

I was commenting to my wife this morning that I'm already looking forward to the 2025 show reveal, which won't be happening until May!
But for now I'll go out on a limb and predict that Cedar Park and Rouse and Leander will field excellent shows that should all compete for top honors.
I'm also really looking forward to seeing what Friendswood and Argyle do, and then there's my absolute favorite show that didn't make Finals this year, Lake Belton.  I'm really interested to see what they look like next year as well.

I think you're right, CP will probably take it, but I think Rouse will give them a run for their money once again. The tension and competitiveness between those two is crazy!

I dont think youre giving respect to both groups, Rouse finished 2.45 points above Cedar Park at San Antonio so I don't see the relevance of bringing up BOA Austin, Cedar Park clearly started the season stronger and Rouse overtook them. It's honestly simple as that. Even looking at national scores Cedar Park's prelims score (94.85) was only .85 higher then rouses score from a week ago (94.00) and then exact same in semis and then .7 lower in finals (93.3). 

not a lot compared to last year. will definetly be cheering for Leander and Cedar Park

Woodlands and Mckinney North for my favorite jazzy shows of the year!!! What a cool show from the Woodlands.

This isn't a UIL situation where those tend to leak. You're better off trying to find the nuclear codes than BOA prelims results before the end of the competition.

Them as well! This comp is mad stacked with insane bands! making finals will be hard enough! Top 8 or 7 even is still crazy imo!

I think CP is going to be in the top 5 ... just my opinion from watching them at uil... yes  I know  it's a different judging style but don't see them  that low..  I would even  say top 3... they are at the level of Hebron Marcus and Vandergrift.

I'm not too sure about anything else, because I have not seen any other shows this year. These are the ones I'm 99% sure will make finals. Definitely more bands will make finals, But these are the only ones I've seen and know to be honest. 
 
 

Really excited to see the CP-Rouse battle take place on the Alamodome field yet again. Last year's shows were incredible. In four trips, they've never left us disappointed. Can't wait to see how this year's contest shakes out.

I'll be there for sure! Always one of my favorite times to preform. This year though we're getting clinicians and people to give us feedback. So it has the all the comp environment feelings, we just won't get placed or any of that. Makes it ten times better than before!

Yeah, it's been so much hotter at Rouse high school than it has been at Leander, Cedar Park, Vista Ridge or Vandegrift. 😕
