Visually I will say for sure, that’s imo what was a weakness last year.

So I just saw Cinco’s Show, they can absolutely go to state, I wasn’t a fan of the show originally, but after seeing what I just saw, I can HAPPILY say I LOVE this show.

I believe it takes the least points out of 150. speaking of finals, I’d like to get to make an analysis of who’s fighting to stay in finals, and who’s going to finals!!

I need to see some groups like JET, Bridgeland, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Park Langham Creek, Cypress Falls, Cy-Fair, Seven Lakes, at Webster on Saturday, really interested in how we can compare some of these groups given how close in skill they are to one another, ex: Bridgeland and Cy-Fairand Seven Lakes, Langham Creek And Cy-Ranch and JET, Park/cy-falls.

This is what I like to call, the transfer of “power” in marching band, you have a group such as CTJ, and they slowly start to decline? It’s unfortunate but it happens, I’ve also noticed some other strong programs haven’t been doing as well, but other programs who you wouldn’t have expected to, have and have placed in front of our traditional strong programs, I think this is a process that will occur in the upcoming years and we’re gonna see a completely new group of programs that are the “powerhouses, heavy hitters” at the end of the process in a few years.

It does for sure, my only thing is, this is early season BOA, if we look at some results from 2022, at BOA Katy Tompkins/Cypress Ranch beat cinco Ranch and Katy, at Area this flipped, Cy-Woods wasn’t that close to Cy fair at that comp in terms of placement Either, then at UIL state Woods was 18th, and Cy-Fair 30th. And I’m fairly confident Woods was ahead of Cy-Fair at SA that year, So all in all, what I’m saying is I don’t think super early BOA early season results are the best indicators for later season results like area and then on when things will be a bit more intense, or even in the comps. we have this Saturday when marching season really REALLY begins.

This is a good point, I’ll admit I had some negative thoughts earlier towards certain band programs that were in the heat of the moment, as someone who is an adult, those were not okay at all, and there is zero excuse for them.I should know better. who am I to undermine all of the hard work that the bands put in. Every band program worked to be in finals, and every band from cypress falls to college station to cinco ranch to freeman to the woodlands, worked hard to be here, so let’s build them all up as they deserve.

I agree, Im a bigger fan of this than last years sound, last year was quite harsh IMO, this year it just flows so much easier!!

Wow, Foster blew my hat off(not literally). But that’s a lock for a second performance.

It’s probably more apparent from your end in person, but I’ve heard many of the issues from plenty of the bands today, I’ve only gone as far as too who I think will make finals, however, the competition isn’t quite over yet so were just kinda working with what we’ve got.

Tomball memorial, fantastic, still loved the show from last year a tinsy bit more but they always have such an engaging show. Well done.
