My predictions of the finalists I think we will have, this is based on who’s performed so far! Klein Oak Clear Brook North Shore Tompkins The Woodlands Dawson Churchill Fulshear Jordan

Churchill Fulshear, was incredible. I did NOT expect that, I think they will get another performance tonight.

Elkins high solid job, some really good improvement in that program from last year, hope to see them in Area E finals!

I’m with you on that, don’t get me wrong great performance, but it’s really as impressive as usual? Interested on cy-fairs show.

I’ve seen that before but it just…”WOW” wow factor to be honest. That hit just always catches me off guard. if I’m a judge I would have been sitting there googly eyed like “huh” Tompkins has joined the ranks for my 12 finalist lists.

Very nice college station, that program has improved quite a bit, really mature horn sounds coming from the Mellos, beautiful. Great performance! Give it a few years and I think they’ll be a strong program to look out for.

The opening hit caught me off guard, my was that fantastic!

Langham creek?!?! Didn’t expect that lol!

Think of BOA top 6/bottom 6, there’s random draw of course, but each finalist in each group draws for each time in either the lower half, or the top half. Same thing for area finals but the bands will know when they perform, and they’ll know if they got top or bottom half. So for example, Bridgeland is going to be top half.

So this year, no more of “if we hear another band at 8:30, instead of our name, we didn’t make finals”, it would suck to know you didn’t make finals before finals results were even over, whereas with this you’ll know if you made finals and whether you’re in the bottom/top half of prelims, or you’ll get a pleasant surprise if you aren’t the first five bands to perform, but instead the last 5(top five), looking at you Jordan! But you get the point.

While that is true, and I’m assuming you have experience(😉🤣), I think Cy-Fair is one of the programs that is “used” to that type of luck/timing when it comes to slotting.

That Depends on the time you perform in prelims, I’d rather be first in finals, just generally no matter the time you perform. it would suck if you were 1st in prelims, and last in finals. Though if you’re gonna be last in finals, you need to bring it to really make an impression. I’d say being one of the later groups past 3/4pm would be your ideal prelims slot if you’re gonna be last to perform in finals, but if youre prelims slot is after 1pm, while it may not be as good as a 3/4pm prelims slot, it’s better than having to perform in prelims at 3AM or something, 10AM, 9AM etc.

Will definitely snag a music judge per usual lol

Just to add something to the convo, I noticed that in prelims Klein Cain had 2 judges that scored them higher than even Rouse! Now obviously finals was different but congratulations anyways.
