  1. honestly arguable RRISD has Round Rock, McNeil, and Cedar Ridge LISD (Leander) has Leander, Vandegrift, Rouse, Cedar Park, and Vista Ridge LISD (Lewisville) has Hebron, Flower Mound, and Marcus in all honesty, i think leander is the most powerful isd, but again, this is arguable disclaimer: i only listed the powerful schools, the ones that consistently make finals at the competitions they go to, so you may notice that some schools are missing
  2. FINALISTS - 15!!! FINALISTS - Vandegrift H.S. - Hebron H.S. - Marcus H.S. - Cedar Ridge H.S. - Ronald Reagan H.S. - Cedar Park H.S. - Rouse H.S. - Vista Ridge H.S. - The Woodlands H.S. - Pearland H.S. - Flower Mound H.S. - Coppell H.S. - Round Rock H.S. - McNeil H.S. - Seven Lakes H.S. truly unexpected!!!
  3. rouse with the 1st in 3A but 2nd in state, at least they made a comeback
  4. when was the last time Flower Mound placed higher than Marcus at any Contest besides this season, and a .2 difference between Flower Mound and Hebron?!?! state is going to be CRAZY
  5. we consider china spring our rival, but i truly love this show.
  6. i think it's about time Leander has a championship/medal under their name for this year, i think their show is AMAZING this year, and is truly the most unique out of all of them for sure! same with Rouse, and i hope Glenn makes state finals this year so every single Leander ISD HS makes state finals, that would just be amazing
  7. i didnt think about it this way, but now that i know this, this means state is going to be incredibly competitive this year
  8. i agree on that last statement, but this does change the game for state finals, because sulphur springs also placed higher than celina in prelims in area c
  9. All 6 Leander ISD schools has advanced to the UIL State Marching Band Contest according to the Vista Ridge HS Band Instagram page
  10. well the thing is i looked at the scores for area b, and panther creek got a 4 in a music score, panther creek got a 1 in both visual scores.
  11. i feel INCREDIBLY terrible for canton, as they did not make state, when we competed against them at sounds of springtown, they placed higher than us, and got 3rd in percussion in the drumline standstill. there show was also amazing, i feel so bad for them dude.
  12. all i know was that area b finals order was top half goes last, and you can clearly see that in the prelims score sheet, robinson, aubrey, gatesville, panther creek, and china spring all went after the judges break in between finals, and they were all top 5 in prelims
  13. how is no one talking about china spring beating panther creek?? this COMPLETELY changes the game for state AND state finals!!
  14. alvarado will 100% be a top finalist if not state contender, brock on the other hand is new to 4a, so they dont know how to really balance their shows with other 4a's, meaning that they dont know what most 4a shows are like, since they are new marching band is all about uniformality, so the band has to look and sound good, if you're just good at music, your visual scores are going to the floor, but if you use some time to work on marching instead of using all of your time on music, then those scores could balance out and they could help you in the long run meanwhile, alvarado has 8 band directors (correct me if im wrong), so they can balance out anything they need to, and they can get that extra work in as well im not entirely sure how many brock has, but it definetly doesnt contend to alvardos amount
  15. area day is tomorrow!! good luck bands!
  16. we just opened a box of ponchos and they had spores of mold growing on them and our director took them to a school board meeting and said we needed new ones and we got them!! good luck on saturday
  17. thank you for that!! theres a (i think) 2A school thats also doing a flower show that wants to rent our flower props if they make it to state, i dont know the school name nor do i know if they amde it to state or not, but honestly i woulda done the same thing, i have never seen props like ours from a 4A school, mainly because they are literaly cutouts of flowers (which they cut it out so well that some of the corners [not even an actual like corner] can cut your finger or something)
  18. the only thing im worried about is our props, we have these props that arent like usual tarps that have a plain background, we have giant cardboard (its definetly not cardboard but thats what it feels like) cutouts that have wooden support beams, if the wind is too strong, the beam will snap in half. same with our front-runners, because they have leaves that come out of the front-runner to match it. the wooden support beam snapping happened in springtown, we also have tarps that we roll out on the ground for like a whole minute (idek if its a full minute), so iḿ just hoping that the wind isnt too strong during area prelims
