Musically it is without a doubt the best show I have ever seen. The difficulty of the show is so high yet Hebron executed every part so incredibly well. I'll hold off saying it's the best show I've ever seen just cause there have been so many fantastic shows over the past decades but it is definitely up there for me at one of the best Texas shows of all time.

Not to mention that Hebron's entire show was a technical feature and not little parts of the show LOL. 

musically speaking, i can’t think of any better ones. avon’s 3-peat years had some technical features that were similarly crazy clean and hard, but they definitely didn’t have the richness of ensemble sound that hebron pulled off this year.

I don't know if anyone has said this yet, but I think Hebron 2021 might take the crown for best high school show. At the very least its the best music I have ever heard a high school pull off. Somehow Hebron keeps one upping themselves with this absurd music. I cannot wait to see what they do next year.
 

I appreciate this sentiment, but as a Vandegrift parent with a kid who went to Grand Nats in 2019, I can honestly say that we knew darn well that if Reagan would have gone to Indy, we very well may not have won. And we were all totally OK with that. Reagan had an AMAZING show that year. We didn't see it as taking anything away from Vandy to recognize how good they were. Reagan has an amazing band program. The kids and directors in both programs (and all of these programs, really), completely support each other. I have never seen any of them sad because they "lost." Instead, they are happy for those who won. Heck, Tuesday afternoon before retreat, my kid, who is IN the Vandy band, said she hoped Hebron won because "they are really good." And that's the way it should be. As our amazing director always says, it's not about competing, it's about performing. 

hebron absolutely deserves everything they’ve gotten this year and more. they’ve been a staple of texas boa for the whole modern era and it’s a almost criminal how long it took them to edge out these other extraordinary programs at the top.

That's easily the best performance I've ever seen (or been in) from that program, even through a livestream. They've already had an incredible season and just being at state is an accomplishment, but they took it one step farther and gave *that* performance. I'll admit I'm a very biased alum but I sure hope they get a finalist spot, even though that'll be very difficult given the obvious strength of the competition.

They were both great! Hard to compare when they have such differing approaches. Hebron has very difficult music and drill, doing both at the same time, and has a lot of incredible solos. Vandy is unmatched visuals and dance with beautifully integrated and performed music, with very few solos. Not sure how the judges even approach such diversity in show style.

Watched Hebron on the high cam. I don’t say this lightly, but they were cleaner than clean. I truly didn’t “get” the drill until this run. That was a 2012-esque run for them.
