I chuckled a little at one moment of Reagan’s show - which other program can have the band clear the field and let the color guard have a moment?! Such a cool thing that is quite unique to their program!

Interesting point you bring up. The BOA sheeT (and likewise WGI) dictate specifics for certain point ranges, using “vocabulary” (good/great/outstanding…some/most/all of the time) to guide the values they award. UIL has a variance of this, but not to the same degree. some additional causes for variances: using ordinal numbers to determine final score, music/visual caption swap for finals, random draw for finals. It must be said that judging is subjective and there will never be a great way to do it, only means of trying to do it better I guess!

Blue Springs HS - brilliant production. Their ballad had the audience on their feet, and once again after their finale. They perform at such a high level, it’s really inspiring to see youths do that!

I’ve gotten to see the 6:15pm block of day one. Really talented and wonderful programs, it is such a treat to be here enjoying marching band. O’Fallon Township and Archbishop have been real standouts. Archbishop - my, what a tremendous production!
