The stream is not good. What happened to box five or even Flo? Its unlikely but somehow I hope we get this fixed by finals because this is doing a huge disservice to every band.

2022 BOA San Antonio (Nov. 4 & 5)

I agree, I was confused why they were rated so low by the scoring. -
If finalists exactly copy paste from San Antonio, then there’ll be one free spot since Cedar Park was 5A! Bowie placed 15th but missed state, and Leander was 16th but is 5A so that final spot is looking really competitive for the taking!

Genuine question, Dripping Springs always seems to do significantly better in UIL than BOA. Much more than quite literally any other band. Whats their secret to their perpetual UIL success and why doesn’t it transfer to BOA? -

This is a very very very hard moment for A LOT of bands. Remember, your effort, your strength and resilience this season are not lost. You entertained thousands of audience members. You did great. Keep your head up. -

It’s rare we see a UIL band make the leap to the BOA world with such commitment. Amazing work from Argyle, great things to come and great things happening as we speak! -

I’d say that GN is assisted and made more competitive by Texas bands for sure. I think it speaks a little bit more to their cleaning, but it’s not like there’s a clean clear answer, totally up to interpretation! -

Somehow CTJ’s most tame show in years is still one of the most extravagant of the night -

2017-Somewhat even 2018 - SA more competitive 2019 - GN more competitive 2021 - GN more competitive 2022 - SA more competitive It seems to fluctuate, and I may get yelled at. -

Was Pearland #8? Some dirt in the closer but the music was very very very clean, very clear pronunciations. -

I don’t think you need to pounce on every comment like this, I really didn’t mean any ill intent. Sure we’ve seen some duplication, it is worth noting this is a newer trend but you’re right in that amazing bands will usually make finals in both with no issue. -

……to be fair UIL did change their sheets to be more BOA-like as of recent. Was their comment bitter? Sure. GE does way too much I think though. It should probably be less. -

I think everything’s about the same with people spelling more confidence for Leander and Keller, and a little less for Hendrickson and Rouse although all are still in very good contention and had wonderful shows. -

Panels are posted alongside the schedule, not sure which page someone can direct you to them. BOA does their best to sort them based on past success and randomness, lots of talk about them being “uneven” but it’s just talk that happens every year. They alternate between block, with the occasional one off depending on scheduling hiccups.
