You should be fine. If you can run 9 or 10 miles on your long days in training, you will make 13.2 in the race. Good luck!!

I have run several 1/2 and full marathons. After a week off I would suggest ramping back up slowly to your weekly average before the illness. I would not jump right back in because you would be susceptible to injury or at the very least, sore legs. After a week or so, your legs will let you know if you are ready to resume your normal training schedule.

2019 BOA San Antonio
LHSbandDad replied to CTJBandPops's topic in Past Contests, Events, and Festivals Archive
I agree!! There used to be a band from Oklahoma and Hawaii that came to BOA SA and they always got a great reception from the crowd. I hope this happens with the Utah band this year. -
I'm going to create a directory of sorts...

Thanks for confirming!! This is GREAT news for Leander and the rest of #TeamTexas to have some time to make those final adjustments before making the trip to Indy!! In 2016 we did the BOA SA, UIL State, Indy trip Back-to-Back-to-Back in 9 days so it will be so nice to have some time to practice (and sleep in our own beds) between the two BOA events this time!! -

Do we know the date yet for this? Usually it is the 1st weekend of November (Nov 1-2, 2019) but I noticed on the MFA website that Grand Nationals is Nov 14-16, 2019. That would be a two week gap and usually it is only a one week gap. Does anyone know for sure? -
Crossband support
LHSbandDad replied to truisticprince's topic in Everything Music: Marching, Concert, Auditions and more
LISD south definitely does this. The directors all get along and it translates to all the kids in all the programs getting along. There are many social media posts back and forth showing support. At Grand Nats two years ago. Leander and Cedar Park were seen "high fiving" each other before and after performances. Most of the LISD schools sent Drum Majors to SASI the same week so there is a friendly relationship there too. This week Vista, Vandy and Leander are at the same hotel and there have been pictures floating around of them all high fiving each other in the hall ways and extending "good luck" messages. So yes, I would say the "Cross band support" in LISD is excellent.
